I Just Returned From a Disney World Bachelorette Party – Here’s How It Went & How To Plan Yours

When planning a bachelorette party, the options are nearly limitless. A weekend on the beach, perhaps? Maybe a cruise or a cabin in the woods? Orrr…. What about Walt Disney World?! When my sister put me in charge of planning her party, we all knew where we were headed!

Disney World may seem like the hot spot for family vacations, but there is SO much more to it than that. Adults can have a great time, too! A Disney World bachelorette party can be full of fun, relaxation, and a whole lot of Disney magic. So, grab your girls, a glass of wine, and follow along for your guide on how to plan your bachelorette party at Walt Disney World!

Why Disney World for a Bachelorette?

A Disney World bachelorette party means that you can do whatever you want to do, and be whoever you want to be!

Want to get your adventure on and have theme park days? Done! Fancy a day at the spa to be treated like a princess? Yep, Disney can make that happen, too. Is letting loose and exploring different countries your style? Drinking around EPCOT’s World Showcase has got you covered! And on top of all that, Disney Springs is a nightlife destination for great food, cocktails, and live music.

You really can’t find somewhere more diverse than Walt Disney World, especially when trying to fit the needs of multiple people in the group. Additionally, for those who may be flying, there are typically several flight options into and out of the Orlando airport (MCO).

Our Trip Details

Our group of five girls spent two nights relaxing at Walt Disney World. We didn’t visit any theme parks this trip; however, we had plenty to do to fill our time.

Where We Stayed

For this trip, we stayed at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. The cabins are a perfect group location, as they sleep 6 adults, have a full kitchen, bathroom, and patio/deck.

I was trying to decide between this 1-bedroom cabin and two standard rooms at a different resort. Two rooms at a value resort would have been cheaper; however, it was important to our group to have a kitchen to bring snacks and drinks, as well as a hangout space. This ultimately was the main factor in our decision to choose Fort Wilderness.

Our goal for the weekend was low-key relaxation, and a cabin in the woods fit that perfectly. It was nice to have a home base with a place for all five of us to hang out, play some cards, and actually have somewhere to sit besides a bed. Not only that, but the scenery and vibe are unmatched. The cabins are quiet and serene – a.k.a peak relaxation.

Another perk of Fort Wilderness Resort is the ability to rent a golf cart to explore the amenities. We were able to get to and from anywhere within the resort in minutes. Plus, it’s an activity in itself to drive around and talk to fellow campers.

Getting the Bride Ready: Decorations

Our bride may not have the most flashy personality, but we weren’t letting her go unnoticed! Similar to birthdays at Disney World, there’s always a potential for cast members to throw a little Disney magic your way for a celebration.

At check-in, I let the cast member know we were there for a bachelorette party, and she gave us “I’m celebrating” pins for everyone in the group to wear to start our trip. Before the trip, I bought cabin decorations, a bride-to-be sash, and custom tumblers for our party. When we arrived, it was time to decorate! Decorations are welcome at Walt Disney World resorts, as long as there’s no damage to the room. Meaning, no tape on the walls to rip the paint, etc.

Our bride wore her sash all night, resulting in so many congratulations from cast members and fellow guests alike. We even got free champagne from one of the restaurants we visited. But more on that later.

Bottom line – embrace the bachelorette theme!

Bachelorette Weekend Activities

As I said before, this weekend’s goal was relaxation and spending time with friends we hadn’t seen in a while. It had been over a year since we were all together. So, while racing around the theme parks is an equally fun way to spend the weekend, don’t expect to read about that here. Instead, we were sipping cocktails, soaking up the sun, and channeling our inner Remy through dining adventures.

After setting up our cabin, the first stop was the pool. Now, our trip was in early February, so while it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t necessarily “get-in-the-pool” weather. It was sunny and warm enough to soak in the sun, yet cool enough to enjoy the hot tub, so that’s exactly what we did! We also spent some time in the lounge chairs on Clementine Beach, a great spot to grab a cocktail from Crockett’s Tavern and enjoy the views of Bay Lake.

Other weekend activities included challenging each other to a (not-so-good) game of pickleball at the campground, riding around on the golf cart, checking out fellow campers’ decorations, spending time on our cabin deck enjoying the outdoors, playing some cards, cooking, and embracing quality time together. It’s not often you get together with your girlfriends as adults – especially with no kids and no husbands

The days may have been spent at the campground, but at night, we hopped on the complimentary Disney bus transportation to Disney Springs.

Free things to do in Disney World

Disney Springs Dining Adventure

If you’ve been following Eat Sleep Disney for a while, you know my love for some good food outweighs many, many things. So, of course, there was no way I was planning this bachelorette weekend without a food crawl.

I chose Disney Springs for a few reasons. One, variety! The bride didn’t want to sit down for a 6-course, hours-long dinner. Instead, we chose to head to multiple restaurants and order appetizers, small plates, and cocktails at each. And two, entertainment options. Girls Just Want to Have Fun, anyone?!

STK Steakhouse

Our first stop, STK Steakhouse, is home to one of the best happy hours at Disney Springs. The best part? It’s offered every day. The hours vary and sometimes conflict between what the My Disney Experience app says versus what STK’s website says, but regardless, this is a must. Happy hour is only offered in the bar and lounge, so no reservations are available. We enjoyed some apps here, then moved on to the next place.

Wine Bar George

Wine Bar George is my favorite place at Disney Springs. I will recommend it to anyone, even with kids. However, a bachelorette party seems like the best reason to visit this restaurant. I’ve never had a bad meal there, and small plates are the perfect way to dine with a group. The mac and cheese bites are a must-order! Additionally, the wine selection is among the most extensive in Florida. The opportunity to sample 1-oz pours of popular, top-shelf wines is a fun experience you don’t get anywhere else.

Jaleo

Lastly, we made our way to Jaleo. Jaleo is known for its small plates and tapas, so stopping here was a no-brainer. When we arrived, our server noticed the bride’s sash and brought us complimentary champagne and shared a toast with us! Now, a bachelorette party is as good an excuse as any to splurge, right? Yup! We’re ordering caviar! We frequently stop at Jaleo, and always order the tableside sangria. If you like sangria, don’t miss stopping here, even if you get one to-go. At this restaurant, we shared caviar, croquettes, and more.

I don’t know about you, but as a mom of two in my thirties, anything after 9 PM might as well be the middle of the night. With the time being 11 PM and maybe one too many cocktails, it was time to head back to the cabin. However, everyone agreed that the Disney Springs food crawl was the highlight of our trip!

Planning For Your Bachelorette Party

We planned a short Disney World bachelorette party at Fort Wilderness, but there are MANY different and fantastic ways to plan yours. Here are some of my picks to help you plan your party at Disney.

Best Resorts for a Group

Whether you’re choosing 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom villas or standard, connecting rooms, here are some resorts that are a perfect fit for a bachelorette party.

Best Bars at Disney World

Best Dining Reservations

Disney World dining offers a wide variety of options. Whether you’re looking for casual dining or getting dressed up for a fancy dinner, here are some great options.

Are Disney Deluxe Resorts Worth it

Bachelorette Activities

We might have opted for a low-key weekend, but there are plenty of other activities at Disney World that fit the theme as well.

  • The Spa at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort
  • Sangria University at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
  • Theme Parks
  • Water Parks
  • Amphicar Experience at The Boathouse
  • Horseback Riding at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort

Parks or No Parks?

As Disney World locals, we opted to avoid the hustle of the parks for our Disney bachelorette party. However, heading to the parks could be just as fun for the right group of girls. Deciding between parks or no parks should come down to a few factors:

  • Length of trip
  • Goals of the trip
  • Budget
  • Time of year

If you’re only planning a short weekend getaway, I recommend skipping the parks to enjoy everything the resorts have to offer, or choosing just one park. Magic Kingdom is great if you’re looking for nostalgia, but choose EPCOT if there’s a festival taking place during your visit. If you plan 3+ days, incorporate one park day, or purchase a park hopper ticket to visit multiple parks on the same day.

Regardless of what you choose, there is plenty of fun to be had!

Insider Tips for a Bachelorette Group

Final Thoughts: Should You Plan a Disney World Bachelorette Party?

So, is a Disney World bachelorette party worth it? My answer is, YES! Even if your group isn’t die-hard Disney fans, there’s so much more beyond the theme parks to explore. Having access to Disney’s complimentary transportation options avoids the need to pay for an Uber or designate a driver. Disney Springs is a one-stop shop for dining, drinks, shopping, and entertainment. And Disney resorts are among the most immersive themed resorts in the world, especially their pools. Plus, splitting the cost between the group makes Disney prices reasonable!
