Disney World tends to have a reputation for being “for kids only.” But, boy, are they wrong! From the well-known challenge of “Drinking Around the World” at EPCOT, to a rotating menu of specialty cocktails at bars and lounges across the theme parks and resorts, we have all your answers here for where you can grab your next drink at Walt Disney World.
How to Get Alcohol at Disney World
There are three main ways to enjoy a drink on Walt Disney World property. Guests can bring their own alcohol (with some limitations), get alcohol delivered to your resort, or purchase drinks on property.
Let’s break down the details on all three.
Bringing Your Own Alcohol
If you are driving to Orlando yourself, this is going to be the easiest (and most economical!) option for you. Guests may bring alcohol into their Walt Disney World Resort hotel rooms and drink it around the resort property. Just be aware that no glass is allowed in any pool areas. So, keep this in mind if your goal is to enjoy a drink lounging by the pool — you’ll need plastic or aluminum cups/cans.
Depending on the type of room you are in, you’ll either have a mini fridge or a full-sized fridge. So, it’ll be easy to keep your drinks chilled for the duration of your stay. Every resort also has ice machines on every floor, so you can also bring a cooler to fill up with ice to keep cold as well.
While bringing your own alcohol can be very cost-effective, it’s important to know that whatever you bring with you can only be consumed at your resort. Guests are not able to bring alcohol of any kind into any Disney Park, Disney Springs, or Disney transportation.
Grocery Delivery
You’ve probably heard of Instacart, Amazon Delivery, or Walmart+ Delivery services that enable you to get groceries delivered to your home. And, grocery delivery at Disney World is no different! Guests can arrange to have their groceries, including alcoholic beverages, delivered directly to the front steps of their resort. To receive the alcohol, the guest will have to be present at the time of delivery to show a valid ID and sign for the delivery. Bell Services is NOT able to accept any deliveries that involve alcohol. So, be sure that you choose a delivery time when you know you’ll be at your hotel!
And, don’t forget that guests are not able to bring alcohol of any kind into any Disney Park, Disney Springs, or Disney transportation. Any drinks you have delivered can only be consumed on the resort property.
Buying Alcohol at Disney World
Of course, you don’t always have to BYOB when you’re vacationing at Disney World. There are also plenty of places to grab an adult beverage in the parks and resorts! Just keep in mind that the cost of those drinks tends to be much higher when you’re buying directly from Disney compared to your local grocery store.
Where To Get Alcohol in Disney World Resort Hotels
Every resort hotel on Disney World property from Value Resorts to Deluxe Resorts has a bar on property. And, the higher the category, the more bars and lounges the property will have!
Where To Get Alcohol in Disney World Parks
When you think of alcohol at the parks, you probably immediately think of EPCOT. While EPCOT certainly has its fair share of alcoholic options, there are also so many other options in Walt Disney World! If you are on the hunt for a good cocktail, don’t sleep on Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
The one place where guests will not have constant access to an alcoholic beverage is Magic Kingdom. In fact, up until 2012, Magic Kingdom was a completely dry park. Currently, guests can only purchase alcohol at table service restaurants in the park. But, there are still some great alternatives close by for a drink.
So, where is the best place to get a drink in each park? Follow along!
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom is the largest of the four parks. And, with that comes no shortage of bars and lounges! There are multiple drink carts throughout the park that offer basic options of Bud Light or hard cider, setting you back an average of $8-$11 depending on your choice of beverage.
If you are looking for the likes of a draft beer, wine, or a cocktail, you’ll need to make your way over to one of the many lounges or walk-up bars around the park. If you are looking for a quick drink to take on-the-go, we suggest Dawa Bar in Africa. At Dawa Bar they serve a Safari Amber Red Ale on tap, brewed exclusively for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The only other place you will be able to access this beer is at the Refreshment Outpost at EPCOT.
Looking for somewhere to enjoy the views, take a breather, and rest your legs? Nomad Lounge is your spot! This is a popular lounge, though. So, we suggest going there first thing, getting your name on the list, and enjoying the rest of the park while you wait for a text notifying you when a table is ready for you. The handcrafted cocktails served here are not something you want to miss! If watermelon is your thing, we suggest Jenn’s Tattoo. It’s a great drink that is also aesthetically pleasing!
EPCOT
Like Animal Kingdom, guests can purchase a beer or cider at nearly any drink cart around EPCOT. However, we suggest skipping the beers you can get at the grocery store here and being a little more adventurous!
World Showcase is where you can sample different cultures around the world — and this includes drinks! Each country in World Showcase has a walk-up kiosk or bar where guests can order a beer, wine, or cocktail that offers a taste of that country. Every country will also have a restaurant where you can slow down and enjoy a drink as well.
For a taste of Mexico, we highly suggest La Cava del Tequila inside the Mexico Pavilion. Give their El Diablo Margarita a try if you enjoy a little spice, or their La Cava Avocado Margarita for a sweeter, smoother option.
If wine is your drink of choice, head to the Italy or France Pavilions. Throughout each pavilion, there are multiple places to grab the most popular wines from these home countries. A glass of wine at EPCOT will cost you on average anywhere from $9-$18, depending on what your preferences are.
And, Rose and Crown Pub is the number one spot for a pint of beer! Located in the United Kingdom Pavilion, fancy yourself the likes of an imported UK beer, a Half and Half, a Blacksmith pub blend, or a hard cider. This pub is always busy, but always a good time. There is a full bar here, so even if you are not a beer drinker, we still suggest you stop in here!
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
You’ll also find drink carts throughout Disney’s Hollywood Studios if you just want to pick up a quick on-the-go beer or cider. But, there are some other (much better!) options.
Baseline Tap House offers ample outdoor seating and a variety of beers on tap. Also, offered here is a small selection of snacks such as pretzels and charcuterie boards. These craft beers range from $10.50 to $11.25, and guests also have the ability to create their own flight.
Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is where you will want to venture for some cocktails from a galaxy far, far away. These cocktails are on the pricier side, setting you back anywhere from $17.50 to $20.50. But, the experience is worth the cost for any Star Wars fan! The Jet Juice is the best bang for your buck, as it is the strongest cocktail on the menu. But, if you’re looking for something on the sweeter side, give the Bespin Fizz a try. Guests also can choose from a variety of mocktails on the menu here as well. Just be sure to get a reservation on your My Disney Experience app for this lounge ahead of time.
And, lastly, our favorite hidden gem of a lounge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the Tune In Lounge. Connected to 50’s Prime Time Cafe, you can walk up and order from a full bar here. There are a few bar stools guests have access to, but this is a rarely busy spot and they have some great cocktails on the menu!
Magic Kingdom
Finding an alcoholic drink at Magic Kingdom is a bit more challenging. There are no walk-up carts to purchase a drink, no bars where you can grab a cocktail, and no walking up and down Main Street with a beer in your hand.
Magic Kingdom up until recently was a completely dry park. However, now, guests can only purchase beer or wine while dining at a table service restaurant in the park. Guests must drink it at the table and it cannot be taken to go.
For guests wanting to take a midday break and grab a cocktail, I suggest leaving Magic Kingdom and taking the resort monorail to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort and going to Tambu Lounge. This lounge located right outside ‘Ohana is a great spot to grab a drink in the A/C with a great view. It’s also one of the only bars on the monorail loop that is open throughout the day — all others tend to stay closed until later in the evening.
