How to Find Water Refill Stations in the My Disney Experience App

You’re probably not going to remember the list above with all the water refill station locations when you’re in Disney World. And, having to do an internet search anytime you’re thirsty can be tiresome and inefficient. Luckily, Disney makes it easy to find water refill stations close to you in the My Disney Experience app!

Here’s step-by-step instructions on how to find and use this feature:

  1. Open the Search Function in the app: Open the My Disney Experience app on your phone. Tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom of the screen to access the search feature.
  2. Search for Refill Stations: Type “water bottle” or “water bottle refill stations” in the search bar. The app will display “Water Bottle Refill Stations” as the first search result.
  3. Access the Map View: Click on “Water Bottle Refill Stations” from the search results. You’ll see a new page with station information and a “Find on Map” button.
  4. View Station Locations: Select “Find on Map” to display all available refill stations in your current area. The map shows precise locations within theme parks, Disney Resort hotels, and Disney Springs.

The app provides the most accurate and current information about refill station locations, so we definitely recommend using it when you’re in the parks.

How To Use Water Refill Stations at Disney World

Water refill stations at Disney World are pretty straightforward to use, but they can vary from location to location. Most stations feature either a simple push-button or sensor activation system and all you have to do is position your water bottle under the spout and either press the button or trigger the sensor. Keep your finger on the button or your water bottle hovering in front of the motion sensor until it’s full and then take it on out. Yes, it’s THAT easy!

Most refill stations are designed for standard water bottle sizes, so you shouldn’t have a problem with any water bottle you have in tow. We find that the wide-mouth bottles work best, but have been able to refill a plastic water bottle at the stations as well (it just takes more focus and you might get a little wet if you don’t have it positioned just right).

The water from the water refill stations at Disney World is typically cool but not ice-cold and, while the water is filtered, it does still have a distinct “Florida” taste to it. If you’d prefer ice cold water, we recommend heading to a nearby quick service restaurant and asking for a free cup of water instead. Just note that they do not accept refillable water bottles at these locations so you’ll have to figure out how to get the water from the open cup into your bottle on your own.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Disney World Have Water Refill Stations?

Yes, Disney World has water bottle refill stations located throughout all four theme parks. These stations are positioned near restrooms, quick service restaurants, and high-traffic areas.

Disney World resort hotels also have water refill stations that are typically located near pools, fitness centers, and lobby areas for guest convenience. And, you’ll also be able to find a few at Disney Springs and ESPN Wide World of Sports.

The My Disney Experience app helps you locate refill stations by searching for “Water” and selecting “Water Bottle Refill Stations.” This feature shows stations on the park map for easy navigation.

Are Water Bottle Refill Stations at Disney World Free?

Yes, water bottle refill stations at Disney World are completely free to use. You can refill your bottle as many times as needed throughout your visit without any charges. This makes staying hydrated much more affordable than purchasing bottled water from snack carts and quick service restaurants. A single bottle of water at Disney World typically costs $3-4, while refills cost nothing!

Can I Bring a Refillable Water Bottle to Disney World?

Yes, you can bring refillable water bottles into all four Disney World theme parks and, well, anywhere else! Disney’s security policies allow water bottles through bag check and metal detectors. Just note that glass containers are not permitted in the theme parks for safety reasons so we recommend packing along a plastic bottle, stainless steel bottle, insulated bottle, or even a bottle with a built-in filter.

Should I Bring a Water Bottle with a Built-In Filter?

While you definitely don’t need to bring a water bottle with a built-in filter, it can be beneficial if you’re particular about the taste of your water. All of Disney World’s water refill stations have filtered water, but some people say that they still get the “Florida water” taste.

How Cold is the Water From Disney World Water Refill Stations?

Water temperature at Disney World refill stations varies by location and season, but most stations provide cool water rather than ice-cold water.

During Florida’s hot summer months, indoor refill stations typically provide cooler water than outdoor ones because of the high outdoor temperatures. So, if you prefer your water super cold, we recommend bringing an insulated bottle that keeps water cool for several hours and stopping by a quick service restaurant for ice early in the day to fill your bottle.

Is There Anywhere Else to Get Free Water in Disney World?

Quick service restaurants throughout Disney World provide free ice water upon request. Simply ask a cast member for a cup of water at these locations to get an ice water at no extra charge! And, of course, table service restaurants also provide free water with your meals, though there’s really no easy way to take this to go. Many pool bars will also provide water cups when requested, even if you’re not purchasing other beverages.
