January Weather in Walt Disney World
January is one of the coolest months in Walt Disney World, with average high temperatures around 72°F and average low temperatures around 51°F. It is also one of the driest months, with an average of only 2 inches of rainfall. Plus, you won’t have to face high humidity levels either.
If great weather is the most important factor to you when planning your trip, January is one of the best months to go. Just be prepared with pants and a jacket in case the temperatures dip closer to the lows of the season.
February Weather in Walt Disney World
February is similar to January in terms of temperature and rainfall with average highs around 75°F and average lows around 54°F. The average rainfall is also around 2 inches for the entire month and the humidity level is at its lowest of the year.
While temperatures are starting to rise in Florida around February, you’ll still be in the thick of Florida’s “winter” with sunny days and mild temps. There’s not even a need to pack for rain!
March Weather in Walt Disney World
March is when the temperatures start to warm up in Disney World! Average high temperatures are around 79°F and average low temperatures are around 57°F. This is also the time of year when rain showers start to increase. However, the average rainfall is only around 3.5 inches for March.
Now, this is one of the most popular times of the year to visit Disney World, as the weather is still mild, but warm meaning that visitors from the north can escape the cold winter months. Plus, this is also around the time that schools have spring break, so crowds are naturally higher.

November Weather in Walt Disney World
November is considered one of the best months to visit Disney World in terms of weather. While November 30th marks the end of hurricane season, it’s unlikely that one will impact your trip based on historical data. Plus, November is known for having some of the most comfortable temperatures in Florida and low rainfall.

Coolest Months to Visit Walt Disney World
Not looking to sweat so much in the parks that you need to reapply your deodorant more times than you can count? You can avoid all the heat and humidity in Disney World by planning your trip for December, January, or February. During these months, the temperatures are at their lowest, often as low as 50 degrees, which may limit some activities like visiting the resort’s pool or water parks. However, you can still enjoy the theme parks and other indoor attractions without worrying about the heat.
It is important to note that the cooler months of January and February are also some of the least crowded months at Walt Disney World. So, you won’t have to worry about long wait times for attractions or navigating huge crowds in the parks.
If you plan to visit during these months, we recommend packing some warm clothing, including jackets, sweaters, and long pants just in case it gets to be a little too chilly for you in the parks.
Hottest Months to Visit Walt Disney World
It can be hard to escape the heat in Central Florida, and there are a handful of months that are known for having the highest temperatures and humidity. This includes June, July, and August.
Florida is known for its hot and humid summers, and temperatures can reach up to 90°F during the peak season with humidity levels driving the real feel up even more into the 100s. If you’re planning to visit Disney World during these months, make sure to stay hydrated and take frequent breaks in the shade. It’s also a good idea to bring sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and sweat-wicking clothing to protect yourself from the sun.
Driest Months to Visit Walt Disney World
If you don’t want to worry about packing rain gear or being tempted to purchase the overpriced ponchos in the parks when a rainstorm appears out of nowhere, visit during December, January, February, March, or April. On average, Disney World gets between 2 and 3.5 inches of rainfall throughout these months, so you won’t have to worry about parades or performances being canceled due to the weather.
Rainiest Months to Visit Walt Disney World
You may be wondering, “Does it rain a lot at Disney World?” and the answer is…yes! The rainy season in Florida typically runs from May through October, which can make it difficult to plan your trip around the weather. But, that doesn’t mean that you should avoid these months entirely! Disney is no stranger to a heavy rainstorm, so they’re prepared to keep your trip going with just as much excitement…even in the rain!
To make the most out of your Disney World trip during the rainy months, plan to ride any outdoor rides early in the morning (as these will close temporarily during storms) and pack rain gear in your suitcase so that you don’t have to go back to the hotel to change when a storm hits. People often leave the parks when rain starts, so being able to remain in the parks gives you a huge advantage when it comes to beating the crowds. Plus, you may even get to see some special entertainment like the Rainy Day Cavalcade in Magic Kingdom!
So, while it does rain a lot at Walt Disney World during the rainy season, it’s still possible to have a great time. With a little preparation and flexibility, you can still have a great Disney trip.
Impact of Weather on Park Operations
Hurricane Season
As we’ve noted, Walt Disney World is located in Central Florida, which is prone to hurricanes during the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from June 1st to November 30th. Throughout the season, Disney closely monitors weather reports and takes necessary precautions to ensure the safety of guests and cast members.
In the event of a hurricane warning, the park may close early or remain closed for several days. However, all Disney World Resort hotels remain open for guests who have a reservation. Disney also usually allows guests to cancel or modify their hotel reservations and tickets for free if a storm is predicted to impact the area during your reservation dates.
If you have plans to visit during this time, it is important to stay up-to-date with weather reports and follow any instructions from park officials. You can visit Disney’s weather update page for more information.
Extreme Heat
The summer months in Florida can be extremely hot and humid, with temperatures often reaching into the 90s. It is important to stay hydrated and take breaks in air-conditioned areas to avoid heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Disney provides several options to beat the heat, including misting stations, water attractions, and indoor shows. We also recommend that you bring your own water bottle to refill it at water fountains throughout the park. Or, ask for a water cup at select quick service locations free of charge!
Note that in extreme cases, the park may adjust its operating hours or close certain outdoor attractions to ensure the safety of guests and Cast Members.
So, while you may want to do some planning around the weather in Disney World, it’s more about how you prepare. Be sure to pack along the essentials for the predicted weather during your trip. And, don’t let some rain (or cold) deter you from visiting! It’s easy to make lasting memories in Disney World rain or shine!
