April Disney World Crowds

April is a busy month at Disney World, with spring break crowds sticking around for most of the month. The parks are busiest leading up to and right after Easter, though things may slow down a bit toward the end of the month. On weekends, EPCOT gets especially crowded as both locals and tourists visit for the Flower & Garden Festival. Meanwhile, cheerleading competitions at ESPN Wide World of Sports bring large groups of teams, making Disney’s Value Resorts feel more packed than usual.

So, regardless of when you’re visiting in the month, you should come prepared to face heavier crowds at both the parks and resorts.

Should You Purchase Lightning Lane Services?

If you want to avoid long wait times in April, purchasing Disney’s Lightning Lane services can be worth it. With spring break crowds and holiday traffic, standby lines for nearly all of the attractions are longer than usual. However, demand for Lightning Lane Multi-Pass, Single-Pass, and Premier Pass is also higher, meaning prices will likely be at their peak for the month.

These passes often sell out quickly, so if you’re visiting in April, it’s important to set an alarm for your pre-booking window to secure your selections. Same-day availability is often limited, so planning ahead is key if you want to maximize your time in the parks.

Staying at a Disney Resort

Disney World Weather in April

April in Disney World is warm and comfortable, with mild mornings, hot afternoons, and low changes of rain. Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-80sΒ°F during the day and drop to the mid-60sΒ°F at night. And, while humidity isn’t as intense as in the summer, the sun can be strong, so sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats are a must. Rain showers are less frequent this time of year, but quick afternoon showers can still happen, so bringing a light poncho or travel-size umbrella is a good idea.

For clothing, lightweight, breathable outfits like shorts, t-shirts, and moisture-wicking fabrics will keep you cool. However, if you’re starting your day early or staying out late, a light jacket or sweater may come in handy. Comfortable walking shoes are also essential, and if you’re planning a water park visit, don’t forget swimsuits, sandals, and a change of clothes.
