February Disney World Crowds
February crowds at Walt Disney World can vary depending on the week. Early in the month, you’ll find lighter crowds, making it a great time to visit. However, Presidents’ Day weekend and the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend tend to bring along with them a surge in attendance, especially at EPCOT and Magic Kingdom. If you’re visiting during these busier times, consider starting your park days early, using Disney’s Lightning Lane services to skip long lines, and planning your must-do attractions in advance to ensure you don’t waste time and make the most of your trip.
Should You Purchase Lightning Lane Services?
Whether or not you should purchase one (or all) of Disney’s new Lightning Lane services in February largely depends on when you’re visiting and your priorities. During less crowded times, such as early February, you may find shorter standby wait times for most attractions, making Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass less necessary. However, if your goal is to experience as many rides as possible or you’re visiting during busier times like Presidents’ Day weekend or the runDisney Princess Half Marathon Weekend, purchasing these skip-the-line services can save you valuable time.
If you decide to use Lightning Lane services, focus on parks with high-demand attractions like Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where Lightning Lanes can be especially beneficial. For Lightning Lane Single Passes, consider prioritizing rides with consistently long waits, such as Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, or Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Planning ahead and understanding how these services work will help you make the most of your Disney trip.

Disney World Weather in February
February weather at Walt Disney World is typically mild and comfortable, making it one of the best times of year to visit weather-wise. Daytime highs average around the mid-70s°F (24°C), while nighttime temperatures can dip into the 50s°F (10-15°C). While it’s not as rainy as the summer months, there’s still a chance of light showers, so being prepared is key.
When it comes to what to wear, layers are your best friend. Mornings and evenings can feel chilly, so bring a light jacket, sweatshirt, or cardigan that you can easily take off as the day warms up. Comfortable pants or jeans work well for cooler temperatures, while shorts and T-shirts are great for the afternoons. If you plan to stay out late or attend an evening event like Disney After Hours, make sure you have an extra layer to stay warm.
We also recommend packing a few other park-day essentials like a compact umbrella or a lightweight rain poncho in case of unexpected rain. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as you’ll be spending plenty of time on your feet. And, don’t forget sunscreen, as the Florida sun can still be strong even in winter!
Disney World Water Parks in February
If you’re planning to visit Disney World’s water parks in February, you’ll need to pay attention to which parks are open when you visit! Disney’s Blizzard Beach will be closed for the first half of the month and reopen on February 15th, 2026, just as Typhoon Lagoon closes for refurbishment on the same day (beginning February 15th, 2026).
Operating hours for both parks typically run from 10AM to 5PM. However, keep in mind that February’s cooler temperatures might make the water parks a less popular choice compared to warmer months. Thankfully, Disney’s water parks are heated, so you can still enjoy the lazy rivers, slides, and wave pools comfortably on mild days.

If the water parks are part of your plans, be sure to check Disney’s official website or the My Disney Experience app for up-to-date information, as the parks may close on particularly cold days or due to unexpected weather changes.

What’s New at Disney World In February
February brings some big (and exciting!) changes to Disney World, starting with the return of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! Running from January 16th through February 23rd, 2026, this fan-favoite festival is packed with brand new ways to experience (and taste) the arts. The Disney on Broadway Concert Series will feature new performers from popular Broadway Disney shows, including Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Tarzan. A new Disney animator is joining the lineup of teachers at the Animation Academy, and fans of Disney’s Lorcana Trading Card Game will be able to experience the game in a whole new way for the first time ever. And, of course, we can’t forget to mention all the new eats and drinks at the Food Studios around World Showcase!

February 2026 also marks a bittersweet milestone as we officially say goodbye to DINOSAUR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The attraction will permanently close on February 2nd, 2026, to make way for the brand new Tropical Americas Land (where construction is already underway). If you’re looking for newer experiences at Animal Kingdom, check out Zootopia: Better Zoogether!, the brand-new 4D show inside the Tree of Life Theater that brings Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde to life unlike ever before.
Whether you’re visiting for the first time or returning to see what’s new, February is a great time to be at Walt Disney World. To learn more about what else is in store for 2026, click here!
