You’ve decided your next vacation is going to be a Disney Cruise – yay! But, just as choosing the right Walt Disney World resort can have a big impact on your vacation, choosing the right stateroom category could make or break your Disney cruise experience!
I’ve sailed in multiple different stateroom categories over the years, including verandahs (balconies), oceanview rooms, and inside rooms. I’m not picky; I’m just happy to fit a Disney cruise vacation into the budget! However, until our recent sailing on Disney Wish, I had never stayed in a Disney Cruise inside cabin as a family of four.
With two little boys now, was booking an inside cabin a good decision? Here’s my full review of a Disney Wish inside cabin, and if I’d do it again.

Disney Wish Overview
Disney Wish is the first of four Triton-class ships: Disney Wish, Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and the newly announced Disney Believe, which is set to sail in 2028.
Disney Wish set sail in 2022, sailing 3 and 4-night Bahamian cruises out of Port Canaveral. However, in summer 2027, she is heading to Europe for the first time! Each ship in the Triton-class has a unique theme, with Disney Wish’s theme being “enchantment”. Yes, wishes do come true!
Disney Wish has Rapunzel and Pascal at the stern and Cinderella in the Grand Hall. Further, Captain Minnie is on the bow for the first time! Storytelling is what Disney Wish does best. There is something for everyone on this ship, with nods to princesses all the way to the Marvel and Star Wars universes.

Disney Wish Inside Cabin Location
Disney Cruise Line offers four main stateroom types: Concierge, Verandah, Oceanview, and Inside. Unlike the stateroom offerings on earlier ships, Disney Wish does not have multiple inside cabin categories. So, there is no deluxe inside stateroom option on this ship.
Our Disney Wish inside stateroom was located on Deck 2, midship, stateroom 2569. Disney Cruise Line’s website lists the stateroom’s size as 169 square feet. This is roughly 35 square feet smaller than the inside staterooms on prior ships in the fleet. Our stateroom was conveniently located near the elevators. Most importantly for us, it was also just a short walk away from the kids’ Oceaneer Club and “it’s a small world” nursery!
Pro tip: When traveling with babies, guests can request a pack-and-play and a Diaper Genie to be delivered to their room upon arrival. They will also deliver bottle warmers, I’ve heard, though I’ve never used them.

Disney Wish Inside Cabin Layout
Upon entering the room, immediately to your right is a very small hanging closet. Take a few steps inside, and you’ll find the desk/vanity area with one drawer, a beverage cooler, a mirror, and open shelving. Through the small entryway to the left, you’ll find the bathroom.
Straight ahead is the queen-size bed, a couch that turns into a twin-size bed, and an additional twin-size bunk that pulls out from the ceiling. On either side of the queen bed, there are two tall closets – one with hangers and one with shelves inside the closet. You’ll also find two small nightstands on both sides of the bed with reading lamps.
Compared to the inside cabins on the Dream-class ships, the reduced square footage was noticeable. However, the decor of our Wish inside cabin was light and airy, making it feel larger than it actually was. Where you could really feel the pinch was the lack of storage in this cabin.

Details Inside Our Disney Wish Cabin
Bathroom
Disney Cruise Line is known for its split bathroom setup in most staterooms; however, inside cabins do NOT offer this feature. I do love the split bathrooms, as they are extremely convenient. But, for a three-night sailing, especially with small children who really don’t respect privacy yet, one bathroom was fine for our situation. If we were a party of four adults, however, this setup would have been rough.
Entering the bathroom, you’ll find the toilet straight ahead, a full-size sink and mirror to your left, and the tub/shower combo to the right. The tub/shower combo is perfect for families with little ones, and the glass doors are a huge bathroom upgrade.

In the shower, there are two retractable clotheslines for hanging wet items. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are also provided. The shower head is adjustable and can be moved up and down depending on your height. Though the shower is smaller than one you’d find on land, my six-foot-tall husband had no issues with it throughout our sailing.
The lack of bathroom counter space was the sole reason I really missed the split bathrooms. There are a few small shelves along the mirror that helped, but the vanity itself had little counter space for all our toiletries.
Main Cabin Area
Each room on Disney Wish has a themed mural above the bed. Ours was Frozen, featuring Olaf and Sven. My son (and I) are big Frozen fans, so we were thrilled!
The closet on the right when you enter housed a small safe, with a small shelf underneath along with a few hangers. To the left of the bed, this closet had a full-length hanging bar with enough hangers for our formal clothes and dresses. To the right of the bed, this closet had shelving inside for folded clothes, with no hanging space.

The lack of drawers was a setback, especially with a toddler and a baby who had little to no hanging clothes. I appreciated the second closet having shelves. Although, the two top shelves were out of reach for a short girl like me; my husband had to reach up and look for anything we put up there.
The desk area offered enough space for us, with three open shelves lining the mirror. The open shelves were where our snacks, baby items, medications, and toiletries stayed.
There was a small coffee table, if you want to call it that, on the side of the bed. While it was easily movable, it had no real purpose and ended up just being something we had to navigate around. Next time, I’d ask our stateroom attendant to just take it out.

Sleeping Arrangements
The queen bed was comfortable, and it was high enough to store our luggage, travel stroller, and pack-and-play under the bed when not in use, which was helpful. Small shelves were positioned on either side of the bed, with outlets on both sides. One side had 2 110V and 2 USB plugs, and the other had 1 110V and 1 220V. At night, our stateroom host set up the pack-and-play in the far back of the cabin, under the TV between the wall and the bed.
The sofa was comfortable enough and could be transformed into a single bed for our four-year-old to sleep at night.

Pros and Cons of Disney Wish Inside Cabins
With any cruise cabin, there are positives and negatives. If you’re thinking of booking a Disney cruise inside cabin, consider these pros and cons.
Pros of the Disney Wish Inside Cabins:
- Budget friendly
- Great cabin locations throughout the ship
- Gives guests a reason to get out and explore
- Darkness provides better sleep
Cons of the Disney Wish Inside Cabins:
- Smallest rooms on the ship
- Can be hard to navigate
- Only one bathroom
- No windows or balcony

Disney Wish Inside Cabin Overall Review
Overall, for the price difference, I would absolutely book an inside cabin on Disney Wish, or any Triton-class ship, again. Space was tight, though we were comfortable. For a few hundred dollars more, I’d probably choose a higher category. But for this sailing in particular, a verandah room was nearly $1,000 more. That’s a lot of money! Instead, we saved that money to spend on drinks, souvenirs, and activities like bingo!
Additionally, I feel like inside cabins give you a reason to get out and explore. There was no reason for us to be in our cabin except to sleep. This meant we spent more time walking around the ship. In fact, it was our second time on Disney Wish, and we found many spots we hadn’t seen the first time!
When my boys get older, I’m not sure having four adult-sized humans in an inside cabin would work out. But for now, the positives outweighed the negatives for my family. I can’t say if it was the comfortable bed, the coziness of the room, or the unlimited pizza and ice cream that we consumed for three days straight that helped us sleep well, but we all woke up every morning refreshed, which is all you can ask for on vacation!
