We Dined on the Only Irish Cuisine on Disney World Property and Here’s Our Review

With the 100+ dining options, there is only one table service restaurant on all of Walt Disney World property that offers authentic Irish cuisine. Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant is located in The Landing at Disney Springs (formerly Downtown Disney). This lively establishment offers Irish dishes, drinks, and plenty of live Irish music and dancing. We recently had a chance to dine here and want to share our review of Raglan Road at Disney Springs.

Our Review of Raglan Road at Disney Springs

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant is the only sit-down, table service restaurant at Walt Disney World that offers a taste of Ireland. It is an authentic Irish pub that was originally built in Ireland, and then brought over to Walt Disney World. With its natural authenticity, the venue creates the atmosphere of a Victorian-style pub that can typically only be found in Dublin, Ireland.

Raglan Road at Disney Springs Food and Beverage Offerings

Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant features a variety of Irish food and beverage offerings along with some American cuisine options.

Our experience dining here started with the waitress stopping by to see if we had any questions and to ask if we had any dietary restrictions. She also provided us with a couple of recommendations. While we took them into consideration, we did not end up ordering any of them.

After placing our order, we were provided complimentary bread and Guinness glaze, a dipping sauce for the bread, which was a perfect way to start this meal.

Drinks

When looking at the drink offerings through the My Disney Experience App, the restaurant highlights just the most popular offerings. However, when we sat down at the table, there was a much larger drink menu from which to choose.

With a page full of drink options from cans, bottles, and draft beers to wines and spirits, we decided to try some cocktails. We selected the Arthurs Old Fashioned and The Passionate Martini to start with and then later ordered an Irish Espresso Martini to pair with dessert.

Arthurs Old Fashion is the typical old fashion with an Irish twist. This drink is made up of Tullamore Dew 12 Irish Whiskey, Guinness Simple Syrup, orange bitters, and a garnish of Guinness cured bacon. Old Fashions are usually a sipping cocktail, and the drink paired perfectly with the Shepherd’s Pie.

The Passionate Martini contains vanilla infused Minke Irish Vodka, Passionfruit liqueur, fresh lime, fee foam, and side of prosecco. This drink provided a fruity flavor and made for a good starter drink. However, we wouldn’t necessarily recommend pairing it with the fish and chips like us.

Finally, the Irish Espresso Martini was the perfect drink to go along with our dessert. This drink contains Slane Irish Whiskey, J.F. Haden’s Espresso Liqueur, Guinness, simple syrup, and you cannot forget the chilled espresso. Espresso martinis are a good night cap beverage and help to balance out the dessert.

Appetizers

From over 10+ options, we decided to order the Bang Bang’s Chicken to share. This dish has approximately 10 bite-sized boneless chicken pieces that are fried then tossed in a spicy bang bang mayonnaise and topped with onion straws.

We enjoyed this appetizer as it was small enough for us to share and still leave enough room for our entrees. If you enjoy a small spicy kick then this appetizer is a good choice. Although, if you are not a fan of spice, then we would suggest you try something else.

Entrées

For our entrees, we decided to go with classic dishes reminiscent of Ireland. Both of our entrées were big enough to easily share if you are looking for light fare or to share with your group.

If you enjoy different flavors and textures mixed into a single dish, the Shepherd’s Pie to Try is the entrée for you. Raglan Road’s Shepherd’s Pie is filled with braised and pulled beef & lamb with root vegetables in a rich red wine jus, topped with Irish peat smoked mashed potato. Though Shepherd’s Pie is not for everyone, it was one of the best we’ve ever had.

The classic Fish & Chips is a staple dish. This cod filet is dipped in a beer batter, fried, and garnished with sea salt. Served with the fish is chips, or as we would call them on this side of the ocean, French fries. With the generous portion of fish served, I was unable to finish the full meal. But thankfully, Ragland Road at Disney Springs was quick to offer a take-home box for the leftovers.

Desserts

Of course, we made sure to save some room for dessert. After perusing the menu, we chose the Ger’s Bread & Butter Pudding. As described on the menu, this dessert “is like no other you have ever tried. Believe us.” We both agreed that it was the best bread pudding we have had in some time.

This bread pudding comes in a small dish with two dipping sauces, a vanilla glaze and a caramel sauce. The bread pudding alone was tasty without the sauces; however, the sauce gave it that extra sweetness. We would highly recommend this dessert as it was delicious.

Raglan Road at Disney Springs Live Entertainment

If the food isn’t enough to lure you in, Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant also offers live entertainment both inside and outside starting in the early afternoons. While dining inside, there are live musicians as well as the famous Irish tap dancers. Unfortunately, we were unable to request a seat in the main dining room and stage area. However, our table was directly adjacent in the Music Room, where we still had an obstructed view of the primary entertainment.

If you are lucky enough to score a seat at the first come, first served patio tables, there is a musician that will play live Irish music here as well. However, you won’t get to see the tap dancers.

Overall Thoughts on Raglan Road at Disney Springs

Overall, we enjoyed our dining experience at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant. It has a fun atmosphere and authentic Irish cuisine. From the music and dancing to the drinks and food, we would recommend this restaurant for couples and families looking for a causal and upbeat meal. Just be aware that this is not a quiet restaurant.

We would certainly visit this restaurant again, as it is one of the few places in Orlando where you can experience a little bit of Dublin.

Transportation Options for Disney Springs

If we’ve convinced you to check out Raglan Road at Disney Springs, you will have multiple transportation options to get to there.

For guests that have a car, you are able to park at Disney Springs’ parking garages free of charge. There are three parking garage options, Orange, Lime, and Grapefruit garages, plus surface lots located by Cirque du Soleil. The best garage for those visiting Raglan Road is the Lime Parking Garage, as this is the closest garage to the restaurant.

If you don’t have a car, there are still plenty of Disney transportation options to get to Disney Springs. There are three ways available when traveling from a Disney park or Disney resort: Disney Transport Buses, Sassagoula Boats, and Minnie Vans by Lyft.

When using any Disney Transportation, just be sure to plan extra time as buses and boats have a limited capacity and can run full during high peak lunch and dinner times.

Disney Transport Buses

Disney Transportation offers bus service from all Disney resorts to Disney Springs. When using this form of transportation, be sure to allot extra time as the Disney buses tend to make more than one resort stop.

It’s important to note that if you are traveling from a Disney park before 4 PM, there may be a multi-step process involved. The best option is to take the bus to any Disney resort and then catch a Disney Springs bus from there. When doing so, either catch the first resort bus you see or locate the Saratoga Springs bus, which is the closest resort to Disney Springs.

After 4pm, Disney does offer bus service from the theme parks directly to Disney Springs as a one-way option. However, these buses may not run as frequently as the buses from the resorts.

Sassagoula Boats

If you are staying at Disney’s Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Tree House Villas, or Port Orleans, Disney offers another form of transportation. Located on the Sassagoula River, the Sassagoula boat transportation takes guests from their home resort to Disney Springs with a drop off at Disney Springs Marketplace side only.

Minnie Vans by Lyft

The last on property transportation option is the Disney Minnie Van services provided by Lyft. This is perhaps the most convenient way to go from a Disney resort or a Disney theme park. If you are in a time crunch and do not want to wait for the free transportation that Disney provides, this would be the best option.
