For those looking for a luxurious, elegant, fairytale Walt Disney World experience, look no further than Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. In this guide, we’re giving you everything you need to know about this once-in-a-lifetime resort so that you can take advantage of everything it has to offer on your next trip!

About Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is Disney World’s flagship resort. Offering all the best amenities and atmosphere, the Grand Floridian is a Deluxe Resort located in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area. This Victorian-era style resort has guests dreaming of elegance and beauty. Between a stunning main atrium, classical piano music performed live in the lobby throughout most of the day, and spectacular views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Magic Kingdom, the Grand Floridian sends guests into a real-life Cinderella dream (or, at least, as close as you can get!).
Not only will you find recently refurbished room accommodations here, you’ll also find amenities you won’t find anywhere else on the property, such as a Wedding Pavilion, a full-service spa, some of the most spectacular holiday displays available, white sandy beaches, and even MICHELIN-rated restaurants.
The resort opened in June 1988, becoming the fourth resort to open at Walt Disney World, preceded only by Disney’s Contemporary Resort, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, and Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

Accommodations
Not only is Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa a deluxe resort, but it is also a Disney Vacation Club property! This means you can choose from standard two-queen or one-king bed rooms, club-level rooms, and multi-bedroom suites when you’re booking a stay here.
Being a deluxe resort, the rooms at the Grand Floridian are some of the largest on property, hovering around 440 square feet and going all the way up to 2,800 square feet for some of the villa suites.
The resort comprises five buildings, including the main building and five outer buildings: Sago Cay, Sugarloaf, Conch Key, and Boca Chica. The final building, Big Pine Key, has been converted into DVC Villas following recent refurbishment. Additionally, the refurbishment has transformed all rooms into a Mary Poppins theme, providing an elegant feel from the inside out.
Unlike value and moderate resorts, this deluxe resort offers indoor accommodations. There are indoor hallways and room entries (though only the club level rooms are located in the main building). Additionally, all rooms at the Grand Floridian have a balcony.
