Disney's All Star Movies Resort

Overview of Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort

Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort is one of three All-Star Resorts at Disney World. All three are located next to each other, and it’s really the theming that sets each one apart. This budget-friendly resort is for families who are looking to experience everything Disney has to offer while still trying to save a little extra on their trip.

As one of the largest Disney hotels on property, you’ll feel like you’ve walked right into some of your favorite Disney and Pixar movies here!

Just know that this is a “no-frills” resort. All-Star Movies might not be the best fit for families looking to have multiple resort days, enjoy table service dining at their resort, or for families looking to have direct access to Disney’s monorail or Skyliner transportation systems during their trip.

Room Accommodations and Theming

Value resorts are “motel style” resorts, meaning that your hotel room door opens to the great outdoors. Each building is made up of three floors, and elevators are located centrally in each.

In total, there are five themed sections throughout All-Star Movies Resort including Fantasia, 101 Dalmatian, Love Bug, Mighty Ducks, and Toy Story. Each building’s exterior is heavily themed to its namesake, seemingly designed with a more kid-centric approach versus resorts in the Moderate and Deluxe categories.

Each section consists of two buildings, and a larger recreational area between each that is themed to the section. You’ll find that this really immerses you in the experience! However, just note that these themes are not reflected in how the rooms are decorated inside.

Standard Room Set-Up

All-Star Movies offers two types of room styles. Rooms either have two queen beds or one king bed. Handicap-accessible rooms consist of one king bed as well.

The rooms themselves were recently refurbished and now include a queen-sized bed and a pull-down queen-sized bed that can also double as a table during the day. When it’s time for bed, simply move the chairs and pull the bed down! Coming in at roughly 260 square feet, these are the smallest rooms offered at Walt Disney World.

Each room features a coffee maker with an assortment of coffees and teas provided, multiple drawers and charging areas, and a small wardrobe for hanging clothes if needed.

Bathrooms consist of one sink, limited counter space, and a shower/tub combination.

A new feature to Walt Disney World rooms is “Hey Disney!,” Disney’s version of an Echo, or an Alexa. This virtual assistant is available for guests to ask questions related to park hours, restaurants, etc., as well as something to keep the kids occupied! “Hey Disney!” offers Disney trivia, storytelling, interactive games, and more. It can also be turned off or disabled if you’d prefer.

While all the rooms are the same, guests can pay a little extra to be in a preferred room, which is all about location. Typically, preferred rooms are located in the Fantasia section, resulting in a shorter walk to all food and amenities.

Amenities

Cinema Hall

Cinema Hall is the main building of All-Star Movies. This building is where you can find the check-in area and concierge. It is themed to resemble a movie theater lobby and has a small TV with Disney movies playing for kids to watch while the adults get the room squared away. You’ll even enter Cinema Hall by walking on the red carpet.

Dining options, shopping, and some recreation such as the arcade are also located within Cinema Hall.

Pools

There are two pools within Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort property. Restrooms and laundry areas are located outside of both pools. Loungers are located on the pool decks, as well as some tables with umbrella coverage. Towels are provided within the pool grounds but you’ll want to note that there is not much shade at these pools. So, be sure to bring sunscreen!

The Fantasia Pool is the largest pool at the resort and is located directly behind Cinema Hall. Daily recreational activities are held here, such as trivia, bingo, pool games, and more.

The Dunk Pond Pool is the smaller pool located in the Mighty Ducks section of the resort. At this pool, Goofy has taken over the role of hockey goalie and is ready for action! The pool is shaped like a hockey rink, even having lines at the bottom of the pool.

Recreation

Value resorts are known for not having that much to offer, but there is still plenty to do while you’re here!

The playground on resort property is located near the pool and is pretty large! It offers two sections including one smaller section with a small slide and activities for the younger kids, as well as a main playground offering larger slides and extra play areas for the bigger kids.

Reel Fun Arcade is located in Cinema Hall, giving kids of all ages the opportunity to give arcade games their best shot. Basketball, air hockey, racing games, and more are available in this arcade. No need for cash or change here, as there is a machine that accepts credit cards to add points to an arcade card. Be sure to check the daily activities boards located around the resort, as sometimes they even have arcade tournaments throughout the week!

Each night, the resort offers a campfire with free marshmallows for guests, as well as s’mores kits for purchase. This is a fun activity for kids and adults alike. And, another nightly event is a Movie Under the Stars. Located outside of the food court is a screen where classic Disney movies are played. Check the daily activities boards to see what movie will be playing each night.

Dining Options

Since All-Star Movies is a value resort, there are no table service dining, character dining, or signature dining restaurants on property. Instead, there is a large food court that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

World Premiere Food Court, located in Cinema Hall, is open from 6:30AM to 11PM (hours are subject to change). Here guests can find grab-and-go options such as pre-made sandwiches, yogurts, or fresh fruit, along with full meals for purchase. Multiple beverage stations offer coffee, tea, and soft drinks.

Silver Screen Pool Bar, located right outside the pool gate, is a smaller dining option that is open from 12PM to 11PM daily (hours are subject to change). A full liquor bar is available here as well as beers, wines, and specialty cocktails. Silver Screen offers a small selection of pre-made sandwiches and salads, in addition to Mickey Pretzels.

Donald’s Double Feature is the only merchandise location at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. It is located in Cinema Hall, offering plenty of souvenir options, a small variety of self-service drinks and snacks, stuffed animals, apparel, and games. Sundries are also available here, including items such as diapers, wipes, sunblock, bug spray, medications and more for any last-minute items that may have been forgotten.

Transportation Options

Disney bus transportation is the only complimentary transportation option at All-Star Movies Resort. Five bus stops are located in front of Cinema Hall, where buses will pick up and transport guests to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and Disney’s Water Parks.

Minnie Vans, Ubers, or Lyft’s are also available for guests looking to bypass the complimentary transportation but do come at an extra charge.

For guests with a vehicle, parking is free at all theme parks and Disney Springs with a resort stay.
