Universal Orlando Resort is opening a THIRD theme park in 2025! Known as Epic Universe, it will expand upon the popular Orlando resort and bring a host of new experiences, rides, restaurants, and entertainment. And, if you’re planning a trip to visit Universal Epic Universe anytime soon (or thinking about it!), there’s a whole lot to know! So, we’ve made it easy and compiled absolutely EVERYTHING we know about the brand-new theme park — let’s get to it!
Universal Epic Universe Park Overview
Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, is set to open on May 22, 2025, and promises to be its most immersive and innovative park yet. Designed to be more immersive than any Universal park before it, Epic Universe will transport guests to five uniquely themed lands all connected by “portals.” With brand new attractions, and more than 50 rides, shows, restaurants, and shopping experiences spread throughout the lands, Epic Universe aims to set a new standard for theme park entertainment, according to Universal.
Unlike Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, Epic Universe is not connected to the existing parks. Instead, it’s located about two miles south of Universal Orlando Resort, near the Orange County Convention Center. A dedicated transportation system will connect Epic Universe to the other parks and hotels, making it easy for guests to explore everything Universal Orlando has to offer.

The Five Themed Lands of Universal Epic Universe
Epic Universe is divided into five themed lands. Each offers a distinct experience inspired by popular franchises and original concepts. Here’s an overview of each before we dive into all the details:
- Celestial Park – The park’s central hub, featuring lush gardens, water features, and an astronomical theme, as well as rides, restaurants, and shops.
- Super Nintendo World – A fully immersive land based on Nintendo’s iconic franchises, with attractions themed to Mario, Donkey Kong, and more.
- Dark Universe – A land inspired by Universal’s classic monsters, featuring spooky environments, dark storytelling, and thrilling attractions.
- The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic – A new addition to the Wizarding World that will transport guests to 1920s Paris and the British Ministry of Magic.
- How to Train Your Dragon: Isle of Berk – A vibrant land bringing DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon to life with interactive experiences and thrilling rides.

With its groundbreaking attractions, immersive environments, and state-of-the-art technology, Epic Universe is shaping up to be a game-changer in the theme park industry. Let’s dive into everything that is CONFIRMED to be coming to Universal Epic Universe. Of course, there could be more to uncover once inside, but this is what Universal has shared so far about the highly anticipated theme park.
Celestial Park at Universal Epic Universe
Celestial Park serves as the heart of Epic Universe, acting as the main hub where guests will begin their adventure. This expansive area is designed to blend nature with futuristic design, featuring lush gardens, shimmering waterways, and stunning architecture inspired by astronomy and mythology. Universal has described it as a space that “puts the ‘park’ back in ‘theme park,’” with scenic pathways, relaxing green spaces, and a sense of exploration and wonder woven throughout.
At the entrance, guests will pass beneath the Cronos, a massive clock tower that marks the gateway to Epic Universe. From here, visitors can freely explore Celestial Park or step through one of four themed portals that lead to the park’s additional lands—each an entirely separate world of its own. All in all, Celestial Park is the launch point for everything Epic Universe has to offer.

Here’s a breakdown of everything you’ll find inside Celestial Park when you enter:

Themed around the citizens of Celestial Park—known as Celestians—who have mastered the art of harnessing comet energy, this ride invites guests to experience the thrill of racing across the night sky just as the Celestians do.
The coaster features two vehicles launching simultaneously, competing against each other as they twist, turn, and crisscross through an inverted element known as the ‘Celestial Spin.’ Reaching speeds of up to 62 mph, with a towering 133-foot peak and a total 5,000 feet of track, Stardust Racers is designed to combine the excitement of a classic wooden coaster with an immersive, modern experience.
Be sure to check it out at night too!

At the center of Celestial Park, Constellation Carousel serves as the main centerpiece of Epic Universe’s hub, offering a family-friendly, otherworldly spin on the non-traditional carousel. This ride invites guests to “ride the constellations” aboard celestial creatures like a lion, dragon, or peacock, each inspired by the stars.
Unlike a typical carousel, this one moves in more than just circles. Riders will experience forward and backward motion, as well as 360-degree spins, while being lifted up to six feet in the air. Plus, the ceiling features a Star Tracker, which displays rotating celestial star patterns, while the center structure creates a dazzling ribbon cone effect overhead.
Astronomica
Astronomica is a water play area that doubles as a giant compass to help guide guests toward the four immersive lands of Epic Universe. Positioned within Celestial Park, this interactive water fountain offers a refreshing way to cool off on a hot day.
The water fountains will come to life throughout the day, shooting water as high as 135 feet into the air. At night, the experience becomes even more magical. Be sure to stop by to see choreographed water shows set to music and synchronized with vibrant lighting effects.

Restaurants
Atlantic
Atlantic is a full-service restaurant in the heart of Celestial Park. It is designed to resemble a grand Victorian aquarium with floor-to-ceiling glass walls and shimmering views of Neptune’s Pool. The Blue Dragon Pan-Asian Restaurant
The Blue Dragon is a full-service Pan-Asian restaurant offering authentic Chinese, Japanese, and Thai cuisine in a vibrant, neon-accented setting. Guests will dine under glowing lanterns and constellations in an indoor courtyard, creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. For a more intimate experience, the Tiger Bar provides a cozy, tucked-away spot to relax with a drink.

The Oak & Star Tavern

Pizza Moon
You’ll be able to get your pizza fix at Pizza Moon!

Entertainment
The fountains throughout the waterways of Celestial Park will come to life throughout the day, swaying, dancing, and even reaching heights up to 135 feet in the air. And, as the park shifts from day to night, the waterways will be home to a brand new nighttime show based on greek mythology where the sun god Apollo hands over control to the moon goddess Luna in a stunning ceremony of light.
