Disney Experts Refuse To Spend Money

If you’re considering staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for your next vacation, here’s everything you need to know in our expert guide to all the rooms, dining, transportation, and entertainment offered here!

About Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort

Head down to the islands at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort! This moderate resort hotel is in the EPCOT Resort Area. Being a moderate resort, Caribbean Beach offers more than a value resort but less than a deluxe resort, falling into a middle-tier category.

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Laid-back yet colorful and vibrant vibes radiate throughout the resort. It’s one of the largest on Disney World property and white sandy beaches line many of the walkways along Barefoot Bay. You’ll be walking a lot around here, but you’ll always have a great view! Island Calypso music plays through the speakers, and you’ll spot some stone walls and water cannons around the bay in case you run into any pirates. Not only does Caribbean Beach transport guests to the island, but the resort also has its very own island within it, Caribbean Cay where you’ll find some of the hotel’s recreational offerings.

Of course, the resort has much more to offer than just the atmosphere. Let’s talk about the place you’ll probably be spending most of the time at the resort — your room!

Accommodations

Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort consists of five sections: Aruba, Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, and Trinidad. All 2,100 rooms are the same size regardless of room type, measuring approximately 314 square feet. The resort rooms have undergone an extensive renovation in recent years, swapping dark, outdated woods with pastel blues and nods to The Little Mermaid.

All room options offer the same amenities, including a small table and two chairs, a coffee maker, a mini fridge, a safe, and ironing boards. Two sinks are positioned outside the toilet and shower room, allowing families to get ready in the morning a bit easier. Nearly all of the rooms offer two queen beds, with the exception being the King Bed rooms, which only sleep two adults. Some rooms include a fifth sleeper, which swaps drawer space for a child-size Murphy bed.

The room options listed from cheapest to most expensive are:

  • Standard View – view of the parking lot or courtyard
  • Standard View 5th Sleeper – view of the parking lot or courtyard
  • Water or Pool View – view of lake or pool
  • Water or Pool View 5th Sleeper – view of lake or pool
  • Preferred Room – view of parking lot or courtyard, but near Old Port Royale
  • King Bed – random view

Caribbean Beach does not offer suite options, so families with more than 5 people need to reserve multiple rooms.

Dining Options

Dining options at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort offer something for everyone! With various quick service and table service options, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your craving. Of course, fitting the theme, all options will have Caribbean and Latin American flair and most are located in the resort’s central hub, Old Port Royale.

Centertown Market

Centertown Market offers quick-service breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Breakfast options are standard across Disney resort quick-service locations, serving Mickey waffles, pancakes, omelets, and breakfast sandwiches.

Lunch and dinner provide similar menus of basic pizza, burgers, and chicken strips, plus Caribbean-inspired options like fish tacos, Cuban sandwiches, jerk chicken bowls, rice and beans, and more.

Banana Cabana

Banana Cabana is a pool bar and outdoor table-service venue that is open daily. Guests can enjoy drinks inside the bar or use the walk-up bar to enjoy cocktails poolside. The dine-in menu includes a variety of appetizers like wings or loaded fries and Caribbean-inspired entrees like a jerk chicken sandwich and coconut shrimp. A kids’ menu is also available.

Sebastian’s Bistro

Sebastian’s Bistro calls all Little Mermaid enthusiasts to this market fresh all-you-care-to-enjoy eatery. It is open for dinner daily. This family-style dining experience includes island favorites like house-baked rolls with guava butter, citrus chicken, mojo pork, and baked fish. Rice and beans, grilled vegetables, and a key-lime dressed salad round out the menu. But, be sure to leave space for the coconut pineapple bread pudding!

There is no kids menu here, so this may not be the best fit for any picky eaters in the family.

Spyglass Grill

Spyglass Grill is the only dining option located outside Old Port Royale. It is a quick service option near the Trinidad quiet pool, giving guests on that side of the resort some dining option without needing to make the 10-minute walk.

The walk-up grill is open daily and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The menu options are more limited than those of Centertown Market, but they still have plenty to offer. Breakfast includes fruit platters, scrambled eggs, and breakfast sandwiches, while lunch and dinner provide pork tacos, burgers, and sandwiches.

Amenities & Recreation

Disney’s Caribbean Beach offers plenty of amenities and recreational options for guests of all ages.

Pools

The Fuentes del Morro Pool offers more than most pools on Disney World property. Within the Spanish fortress-themed main pool are two water slides including a smaller open-air slide, and a 102-foot-long enclosed water slide for the bigger kids. Water cannons spray guests around the pool, and a kid’s shipwreck aquatic play area offers multiple mini slides and dumping water buckets. The recreation staff holds poolside activities at the Fuentes del Morro Pool daily.

There are also five leisure pools located around the resort with one in each building section. These pools are basic pools with no activities, slides, or lifeguards.

Fishing

Guided fishing excursions are available from Caribbean Cay Island, where guests can spend the day relaxing with catch-and-release fishing in the bay.

Other Activities

The Caribbean Beach Campfire is held nightly in the early evening and movies under the stars are held on Caribbean Cay Island Sunday-Friday. Check the recreation posters around the resort for which movies will play, as they change monthly. A large playground is also located on Caribbean Cay Island.

Sand volleyball courts are located around the beaches, and a 0.6-mile jogging trail provides scenic views of Barefoot Bay. Checkers, cornhole, and other outdoor games are down by the lighthouse for guests to enjoy.

Transportation Options

One of Caribbean Beach’s biggest perks is the transportation options, especially for guests looking to spend most of their time at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Caribbean Beach Resort is the hub for Disney’s Skyliner. The Skyliner directly connects guests to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios and offers a direct line to Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation Resorts. The Skyliner typically opens about one hour before Early Theme Park Entry and runs an hour and a half after the park closes. While the lines can get long during park opening and closing, the Skyliner is still lightyears faster than any other mode of transportation. Plus, it’s a ride in itself!

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

Along with the Skyliner, Disney Bus Transportation services Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and the Disney water parks. Various bus stops are available throughout the expansive resort, with each building section having its specific stop.

There are no buses to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios while the Skyliner runs. However, if the Skyliner shuts down for any reason, bus transportation is provided to and from these parks.

Pricing

Since this resort falls into the moderate category, its prices are higher than those of value resorts but lower than those of deluxe resorts.

The standard rooms are the cheapest option, starting at around $275 per night. The better the view, the higher the price. So, Water-view rooms hover around $320 per night. The preferred rooms are the most expensive, as they are close to the central Old Port Royale and average $360 per night.

Walt Disney World operates on dynamic pricing, so expect these prices to be high during peak season, such as Christmas time, and lower during the slower months. Annual Passholders, Florida residents, and any Disney promotional stay discounts may be applicable at either resort when available.
