Overview of the Disney Fantasy Cruise Ship
The Disney Fantasy cruise ship is one of five ships in the current but rapidly expanding Disney Cruise Line fleet. Debuting in 2012, Disney Fantasy is the sister ship to Disney Dream with both measuring in at 130K gross tons. Disney Fantasy has a guest capacity of 2,500 at double occupancy, but given the cruise line caters to families, the ship’s max capacity is actually 4,000 guests.
A large statue of Minnie Mouse adorns the atrium of Disney Fantasy, while Dumbo can be found on the stern. Disney Fantasy, like all DCL ships, is distinctly Disney. From theming, to parties, character interactions, and entertainment, you are always surrounded by Disney magic when sailing DCL.
With a higher price point than most contemporary cruise lines, you are paying a premium for all these extra Disney touches. Still, if your family loves Disney, then it’s likely worth it.
In 2025, Disney Fantasy is sailing mostly 4- and 5-night cruises from Port Canaveral then repositions to Barcelona for the summer season to offer Mediterranean voyages. In early 2026, the ship will continue to offer sailings from Port Canaveral with stops at DCL’s private islands of Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay.
If you’re considering a cruise on this ship, continue reading our complete guide to Disney Fantasy. We cover every inch of this cruise ship from the pool deck, to dining, staterooms, and everything in between to help with your planning process.

Disney Fantasy Dining
The Disney Fantasy cruise ship offers numerous dining options included in your cruise fare. These include the main dining rooms, the Cabanas buffet, and several casual venues. With these diverse options, you can enjoy excellent meals without paying extra, although specialty restaurants are available for an additional cost.
Disney Cruise Line’s Rotational Dining Concept
On Disney Fantasy, guests experience Disney Cruise Line’s unique rotational dining. Instead of one assigned dining room, guests rotate through three main dining rooms on a set schedule. You can check your specific restaurant rotation using the DCL Navigator app once onboard.
During a 7-day cruise, guests will dine at two restaurants twice and one restaurant three times. Each restaurant offers two different menus, with a special Pirate Night menu on one night of the cruise. A typical rotation might be 1231231.
Your waitstaff and table number move with you to each restaurant, allowing you to build rapport with the cast members throughout your cruise.
Guests can choose either an early (5:45 PM) or late (8 PM) dining time for the entire cruise. Special requests for dietary needs, celebrations, and seating preferences can also be made like location in the dining room or a private table.
Unlike many other cruise lines, Disney Cruise Line does not offer a flexible dining option.
Enchanted Garden
Inspired by the Gardens of Versailles, Enchanted Garden is one of the three main dining rooms. It features custom glass flower lights, white trellises, color-changing lights, and a cascading Mickey fountain in the center of the venue.
For dinner, the restaurant offers two different menus, with dishes including ahi tuna and avocado tower, smoked bacon mushroom tart, sea bass, oven-roasted turkey, sea scallops, New York strip steak, and sticky date pudding.
Royal Court
Royal Court, the second main dining room, immerses guests in a fairytale setting inspired by classic Disney films. It features mosaic-tiled murals, ornate chandeliers, and regal furnishings that will make you feel like royalty. This is the venue that most resembles a typical MDR.
The two different dinner menus offer French and American cuisine with dishes including deep-fried brie, chateaubriand-roasted filet, lobster, fettucine with parmesan chicken, and Grand Marnier souffle.
Royal Court is also open for sit-down breakfast every morning of the cruise with typical breakfast selections like omelets, eggs, French toast, and more. This venue also features a 3-course lunch on the two sea days and the Nassau port of call. Breakfast and lunch have open seating.
Animator’s Palette
Animator’s Palette celebrates Disney’s art of storytelling with two unique dinner show experiences. The decor includes character sketches and animation tools, making you feel like you’re in a Disney animator’s studio.
The two shows are Under the Sea Magic and Animation Magic. In Under the Sea Magic, your favorite turtle and other Finding Nemo characters come to life via digital animation. In Animation Magic, you can draw your own character and watch as it becomes part of the show.
This dining room is only open for dinner, offering menus inspired by Pacific islands cuisine. Some dishes include black truffle purseittes and tuna steak from the first dinner menu and the Malaysian chicken satay, garlic marinated shrimp, and rack of lamb for the second dinner menu.
Flo’s Cafe
This outdoor eatery is a food-stall style venue inspired by Pixar’s Cars and located nearby the main pools. There are three food stalls serving a variety of lunchtime favorites that the kids will love too. Each stall does also feature a daily special.
- Luigi’s Pizza: serves various pizzas.
- Tow Mater’s Grill: offers chicken tenders, burgers, hot dogs, and sausages.
- Filmore’s Favorites: serves sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
Eye Scream
Eye Scream is your pool deck stop for all the soft serve ice cream that you and the family care to enjoy. It’s inspired by the one-eyed monster from Monsters, Inc., Mike Wazowski.
At Eye Scream, there is always vanilla and chocolate soft serve available, along with a rotating daily flavor like mango, banana, or strawberry.
Cabanas
Cabanas is the Disney Fantasy cruise ship buffet with beach boardwalk decor, featuring palm trees, surfboards, and a 30-foot long Finding Nemo mosaic.
Unlike most other cruise lines though, Cabanas is open for breakfast and lunch only. There is no dinner buffet available.
For breakfast, cruisers can enjoy all the typical American breakfast selections like omelets, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns, Mickey-shaped waffles, muffins, fruit, cereal, and more.
Lunch offers a variety of salads, soups, sandwiches, and several international hot entree selections. While the kids enjoy some chicken tenders, pizza, or mac ‘n cheese, the adults can indulge in the signature peel-and-eat shrimp and crab claws.
Room Service
Room service is available 24 hours a day on Disney Fantasy. Further, most room service items are complimentary on Disney Cruise Line for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast items are available for delivery from 5 AM to 9:30 AM, and the all-day menu is available outside of breakfast hours.
The room service menu includes items like chicken wings, burgers, soup and salad, desserts, as well as continental breakfast items. Be sure to ask for the off-the-menu Mickey ice cream bars!
Frozone Treats ($)
Frozone is your pool deck stop for frozen fruit smoothies, but these will cost you extra. Inspired by the hero from The Incredibles, this smoothie shop is open select hours serving up a variety of fruity concoctions along with dole whip.
Sweet On You ($)
This vintage ice cream parlor, inspired by Minnie Mouse, offers specialty ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, gelato, sundaes, and milkshakes. The selections here are sure to satisfy all your sweet tooth cravings.
Remy ($)
Remy is the most upscale dining venue on the Disney Fantasy cruise ship. The venue’s ambiance exudes fine-dining with Parisian-inspired decor, rich tones, and china created exclusively for this restaurant. Reservations are required and do sell out quickly, so book early. Further, formal or semi-formal attire is recommended.
This adult dining restaurant offers French-inspired cuisine with a set tasting menu for brunch and dinner. There’s also a 5-course Remy Dessert experience.
The gourmet selections are specially crafted by Chef Scott Hunnel, from the award-winning Victoria & Albert’s at Walt Disney World Resort, and advising Chef Arnaud Lallement—a 3-Michelin-starred chef.
Palo ($)
The second adult dining venue on Disney Fantasy, Palo offers Northern Italian cuisine with a brunch menu and a dinner menu. For dinner, guests can choose a prix-fixe menu or dine a la carte off a more extensive menu. Menu selections include items such as butternut agnolotti, seared sea scallops, and chocolate souffle.
The restaurant features rich decor and amazing ocean views. Palo is the perfect spot for an intimate and romantic dinner on Disney Cruise Line. Reservations are required, so you should book early as they do fill up quickly.
Disney Fantasy Bars & Lounges
Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Fantasy offers a range of bars and lounges for adults to savor some grown-up beverages. Europa on Deck 4 is the main hub of nighttime activities and is home to different lounges and bars all with a distinct European vibe. Not sure where to begin?
Preludes
Located forward on deck 3 near the Walt Disney Theatre, Preludes is your closest spot to grab a drink or popcorn before the nightly shows like Disney’s Believe; Frozen, A Musical Spectacular; and Disney’s Aladdin – A Musical Spectacular.
PRO TIP: Bring your Disney parks popcorn bucket for cheaper refills.
Bon Voyage
The atrium bar, Bon Voyage, serves standard cocktails, a special Welcome Home drink, wine, sangria, Creative-Tea, and more. Without a traditional cruise drink package option, guests may want to try the sommelier bin for a “mystery” glass of wine which is always $13, potentially a bargain for pricier wines.
Vista Cafe
Vista Cafe is perfect for morning coffee, offering specialty coffees, teas, and espresso-based drinks along with continental breakfast items and snacks throughout the day. It also functions as a bar for alcoholic beverages, perhaps some espresso martinis.
PRO TIP: If you are a coffee lover, be sure to ask for a coffee card, where every 6th coffee is free!
Ooh La La
Part of the Europa district, or the adults-only space on Disney Fantasy, Ooh La La is an elegant champagne bar with Victorian charm, serving authentic French champagne, alongside other wines, spirits, and cocktails like the Elderbubble.
La Piazza
Also in the Europa district, La Piazza is an Italian-themed bar with a vintage carousel design alongside other distinct elements like Venetian masks and a restored Vespa. The menu offers items like Grappa, Peroni, Processo, and cocktails including the Mercutio and Escalus that you can enjoy while listening to the live music.
O’Gills Pub
O’Gills Pub, the Irish pub and sports bar, features dark wood tones, shamrocks, and televisions to watch live sporting events. There’s a wide selection of beer including the signature O’Gills beer on draft and other specialty drinks like the Celtic Twilight, Chilled Leprechaun, or the Blarney Stone Tasting. O’Gills also has a small food menu available at a la carte prices.
Skyline
Skyline offers upscale cocktails with changing digital views of cities around the world every 15 minutes. Likewise, this lounge’s menu features signature drinks inspired by cities around the world including Paris, Barcelona, London, Athens, and Florence.
The Tube
Inspired by London’s underground subway, The Tube is the late-night club where adults can enjoy drinks under Big Ben’s clock face while dancing the night away. The venue also hosts some family-friendly events during the day and adult game shows in the evenings.
Cove Bar
In the adults-only Quiet Cove area, the open-air Cove Bar serves beer, wine, and cocktails. This is the perfect pool bar to grab a drink while lounging in this tranquil space which is home to a pool and whirlpool. Who could pass up a frose on a sea day?
Cove Cafe
Also in Quiet Cove, Cove Café offers gourmet coffees, teas, specialty drinks, and treats in a serene indoor lounge. This is a quiet spot to escape the heat and the kids for a bit of relaxation. Just be sure to snag your seats early as this venue is pretty popular.
Meridian
Located between the adult dining venues Remy and Palo, Meridian serves a wide selection of drinks, like a Side Car and a Pink Cadillac along with a bourbon cart. The venue features spectacular ocean views and vintage nautical decor. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a pre-dinner or post-dinner cocktail with both indoor and outdoor seating options.
Currents Bar
Perched on deck 13, Currents Bar offers the same menu as Cove Bar. It’s conveniently located near the Satellite Falls pool and overlooks the Funnel Puddle family wading pool. So, it’s convenient for the adults to grab a beverage while the kiddos are splashing around.
Disney Fantasy Onboard Activities
While you won’t find casinos, state-of-the-art thrills like ropes courses, ziplines, and race tracks, or one-of-a-kind entertainment spaces, there are plenty of distinctly Disney activities and entertainment happening day and night. From Disney-themed productions, to first-run movies, and the only fireworks at sea, Disney Cruise Line certainly offers a magical cruise vacation.
Pool Deck Activities
Decks 11 to 13 consist of the main outdoor areas. Midship on Deck 11 are Mickey’s Pool and Donald’s Pool, which are family pools open to all cruisers. These pools have retractable covers turning the pool deck into a full stage for deck parties. Nearby is the Mickey slide which is designed for junior cruisers.
For those more adventurous cruisers, the Aqua Duck “water coaster” is on Deck 12. This two-person tube water slide takes cruisers all around the pool deck. Utilizing Disney engineering, cruisers go up and down this slide as they circle some 765 feet in the wet and wild ride that could only be brought to you by Donald Duck.
For cruisers 8 years of age or younger, Nemo’s Reef is a water splash play area themed after the popular Pixar movie. Located in the shade, it is a nice reprieve for both the kids and parents as they supervise their little ones. There’s also the Funnel Puddle on Deck 12 which is a small, shallow puddle-like pool.
A more interactive water zone is the AquaLab, aft on Deck 12. Designed for the entire family, this splash zone has a number of interactive water features all designed to get cruisers drenched. Keeping with the duck theme, this “experimental area” is designed by Donald Duck’s nephews, Huey, Louie, and Dewey.
Not to mention, there’s also Funnel Vision, the large poolside movie screen playing Disney favorites throughout the day.
While there are plenty of outdoor areas for families and kids, the Quiet Cove (forward on Deck 11) is reserved for adults only. Home to a pool, bar, and coffee shop, it is a nice departure from the rest of the pool deck. A step above, both literally and figuratively, is the Satellite Falls sundeck on Deck 13. Also an adults-only area, it offers a wading pool with waterfall feature and plenty of loungers with several in the shade.
Goofy’s Sports Deck
Goofy’s Sports Deck is on Deck 13. It includes a 9-hole mini golf course designed by Goofy and Max. There is also a court with basketball hoops and two virtual sports simulators. The Deck 4 promenade features shuffleboard and a jogging track as well.
Broadway Style Theater Shows
Disney Fantasy features three signature production shows in the Walt Disney Theatre. While there are no reservations, we recommend arriving early as the theater does fill up quickly.
Disney’s Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular is a reimagining of the classic Disney movie. It features fantastic singing and a high-tech stage that brings the story to life, along with some comedic banter from the Genie.
Frozen: A Musical Spectacular features all the characters from the hit movie. With elaborate costumes, musical numbers, and even an appearance from everyone’s favorite snowman, Olaf, this show is sure to have you singing along for the first time in forever.
Disney’s Believe is an original production that incorporates several Disney characters from classic Disney live films and cartoons. The heartwarming story is a perfect complement to the other two shows and should not be missed.
D Lounge
The D Lounge is the entertainment hub on Disney Fantasy with family-friendly activities like game shows, trivia, dance parties, karaoke, cooking demos, and more throughout the day. Once onboard, you’ll want to check the Navigator app for a complete list of all the activities and events occurring during your sailing.
Buena Vista Theatre
DCL ships feature a movie theater on the high seas. The Buena Vista Theatre on Disney Fantasy is a more intimate space than the main theater and plays various Disney movies throughout the cruise. You might even get the chance to see a first-run movie that is still in the theaters back home for free on your Disney cruise.
Pirate Night/Fireworks at Sea
Another unique entertainment offering on Disney cruise ships is Pirate Night. Guests get in on the action by dressing like pirates, so be sure to pack your best attire. The night also includes a themed menu in the main dining room, special character photo-ops, and a pirate party on the pool deck.
There is a family-friendly party at 7:30 PM featuring singing, dancing, and all your Disney favorites in their pirate garb. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee might also make an unexpected appearance.
Later in the evening is the Pirates in the Caribbean deck party. With plenty of catchy tunes, lazy pirates, and even an appearance from Jack Sparrow, the evening culiminates with a fireworks show. Disney Cruise Line is the only cruise line with fireworks at sea!
Bippity Boppity Boutique
Just like in the Disney parks, your kids can get a makeover at sea in the Bippity Boppity Boutique. Whether they want to be transformed into a Disney princess, Captain Mickey or Minnie, or a pirate for Pirate Night, be prepared to pay up as prices start at $99+. Reservations are required for this popular activity.
Senses Spa
If some adult pampering is more your style, you’ll want to head to the Senses Spa on Disney Fantasy. The Spa & Salon offer all your traditional treaments like massages, hairstyling, manis and pedis, teeth whitening, and more. There’s also a fitness center and juice bar for those looking for a little invigoration.
The Rainforest Room is Disney Cruise Line’s thermal suite. It features saunas, steam rooms, heated stone loungers, outdoor whirlpools, and great forward-facing ocean views. There are a limited number of passes available, so be sure to purchase early if you want to enjoy this traquil escape during your cruise.
Character Meet and Greets
While there is plenty happening throughout the day and night on Disney Fantasy, perhaps the most popular activity on any Disney cruise ship is the character events.
All week, cruisers get the chance to meet and take pictures with classic characters, like Mickey Mouse or Donald Duck. They even don their best formal attire and Pirate Night attire! Plus, several Disney princesses make the rounds, like Snow White, Cinderella, Belle, and Tiana. On Pirate Night, you won’t want to miss Captain Jack Sparrow or Captain Hook and Mr. Smee. You might even bump into Stitch walking around one day.
Along with the meet and greets that occur in the Atrium and near Preludes, there are character shows too. This starts with the sail away party and then continues with deck parties like the Color Spin Deck Party. While geared towards children, there are plenty of adults who get in on the character events too.
Midship Detective Agency
Another fun and family-friendly activity on Disney Fantasy is the Midship Detective Agency. During this interactive detective game, guests set off to marked stations around the ship collecting clues to solve mysteries like The Case of the Missing Puppies. There are three different games available, and they’re a perfect way to break up all the fun in the sun. The other two cases are The Case of the Plundered Paintings with Mickey & Friends and The Case of the Stolen Show with The Muppets.
Disney Fantasy Kids Club
Whether you’re traveling with infants, children, tweens, or teens, they all have a dedicated space on Disney Fantasy. Although these spaces typically welcome only kids, there are certain times when adults can join the fun too. Be sure to check the Navigator app for open house times during your cruise. Even if you don’t have kids, it’s still fun to check out these elaborately themed spaces.
It’s a Small World Nursery
It’s a Small World Nursery is the babysitting service on Disney Fantasy. Inside, the littlest sailors can enjoy games, crafts, movies, books, and visits from Disney friends while under the care of Disney’s trained counselors. The area even has rocking chairs and cribs. The nursery is the only kids’ space that isn’t free and reservations are required. Although, it might be worth it for mom and dad to have some adult time.
Disney’s Oceaneer Lab
Disney’s Oceaneer Club is for kids ages 3 to 10 years old. This signature Disney Cruise Line space features multiple themed rooms for kids to enjoy including Marvel Superhero Academy, Star Wars: Command Post, Andy’s Room, and Pixie Hollow.
The space features games, crafts, character interactions, hands-on activities, and more throughout the day under the supervision of Disney’s trained counselors, but there’s time for free play as well. Kids can come and go as much as they please, but parents will have to check them in and out.
Edge
Edge is dedicated to kids aged 11-13 years old. Located inside the funnel on Deck 13, this retreat features high-tech amenities that your tweens will love. There’s TVs, video games, foosball, board games, movies, trivia, and several scheduled activities. Here, kids can check themselves in and out without an adult present.
Vibe
Big kids aged 14-17 can relax and socialize in their own dedicated space too. Vibe features multiple areas, a secret entrance, and its own outdoor deck space. Teens can play video games, participate in karaoke and dance parties, and so much more. The sundeck on the ship’s bow even features loungers and water areas for teens to call their own.
