Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Guide: Everything You Need to Know (2026)

The Disney Cruise Line fleet is expanding fast, and with seven ships now sailing (and more on the way), choosing the right one for your family can feel overwhelming. If you’re eyeing the newest addition to the fleet, Disney Destiny, you’re in for a treat.

Launched in November 2025, Disney Destiny is Disney’s first-ever heroes and villains themed cruise ship. This 144K GT vessel is the third Wish (or Triton) Class ship following Disney Wish (which debuted in July 2022) and Disney Treasure (which debuted in December 2024).

From a Black Panther-inspired Grand Hall to Cruella’s piano lounge and Doctor Strange’s mystical bar, this ship brings beloved characters to life in ways you won’t find on any other Disney vessel. But is it the right choice for YOUR family? Whether you’re Marvel superfans, villain enthusiasts, or first-time Disney cruisers, here’s everything you need to know about Disney Destiny to help you decide.

Disney Destiny at a Glance

Disney Destiny offers shorter sailings perfect for first-time cruisers or families squeezing in a quick vacation. With departures from Fort Lauderdale, you’ll explore the Bahamas and Western Caribbean while enjoying Disney’s signature service, character experiences, and now—heroes and villains like never before.

The ship features dedicated kids’ clubs for every age group, both family-friendly rotational dining and adults-only specialty restaurants, immaculately themed bars, some of the most spacious staterooms at sea, and plenty of entertainment, activities, and unique experiences. Now, let’s dive into the details of what makes Disney Destiny special.

Itineraries

Disney Destiny is currently sailing four and five-night cruise itineraries to The Bahamas and Western Caribbean from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Depending on what voyage you book, it will include stops at Nassau, Bahamas, or Cozumel, Mexico. Plus, it will also stop at one or both of Disney’s private islands, Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Theming

Disney Destiny features a first-of-its-kind theming drawing inspiration from Disney’s iconic heroes and villains. The ship’s decor, dining, and entertainment draw inspiration from fan-favorite movies and shows including The Lion King, 101 Dalmatians, and Hercules, as well as Marvel. Plus, you’ll even stumble upon villains like Maleficent and Dr. Facilier.

And, of course, Minnie Mouse is getting in on the superhero action and is found on the filigree artwork in a heroic new look that’s never been seen before.

The Grand Hall

Disney Cruise Line ships are known for having some of the most decadent spaces, and The Grand Hall on Disney Destiny is no different! The atrium design features a signature sculpture of King T’Challa from The Black Panther. The rest of the space draws design details from Wakanda and the Black Panther films including a “Vibranium”-inspired chandelier that fills the room with life and color.

Stern

For the first time ever, there is a Marvel character on the stern – Spider-Man! The larger-than-life sculpture features Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots who are “making a well-meant, if a bit haphazard, attempt at decorating the filigree on the back of the ship with their infamous spider webs.”

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Staterooms

Disney Destiny features 1,256 staterooms with four different room categories – Inside Staterooms, Oceanview Staterooms, Verandah Staterooms, and Concierge Staterooms. While each room type differs in size and amenities, each includes:

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Dining

Rotational Family Dining

Disney cruises are known for their rotational dining experience and Disney Destiny is no different. The ship features three dining rooms that you rotate through during your voyage, visiting each dining room at least once during your trip. You’ll sit with the same people each night and your dining staff will rotate with you. Each restaurant features completely unique menus that complement the theming.

Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King

Pride Lands: Feast of The Lion King is a brand-new dinner theater-style dining experience featuring a cast of live musicians and storytellers presenting a musical journey through Disney’s The Lion King soundtrack as you dine.

The dining room theming immerses you in the African Savanna with lighting and special effects including windows that transform from sunrise to sunset as you dine. In the center is a stage where the live cast recreate featured songs from the film including “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata,” a mash-up of “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King” and “Be Prepared,” and more.

The main menu showcases unique, bold dishes that are among the most flavorful at sea. Highlights include Curried Apricot Chicken Sosaties, Shrimp Curry, Spiced Tomato-braised Lamb Shank, and Berbere-Spiced Roasted Chicken.

Worlds of Marvel

Worlds of Marvel first made its debut on Disney Wish and this immersive Marvel dining adventure is now on Disney Destiny too! Throughout your meal, you’ll follow Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy as he brings you along for an on-screen adventure to throw a surprise party for Rocket Raccoon. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper Guardians of the Galaxy show without an “awesome mix” of songs. Plus, there is even trivia questions to test your Marvel knowledge.

1923

Named after the founding year of Walt Disney Animation Studios, 1923 is a fine dining restaurant showcasing the history of Disney Animation. The upscale Hollywood theming of the restaurant surrounds guests with modern and classic Disney animated sketches featuring storyboards, sketches and props recalling the heroes and villains of classic Disney animated movies.

Like Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, the menu here highlights California flavors. The filet mignon and Atwater Fuji Apple Cheesecake should not be missed.

We have a full list of all the Disney Destiny restaurant menus here.

Adult-Only Dining

The Rose

While most bars and lounges welcome minors during the day and into the early evening, The Rose is the only lounge that is adults-only 24/7. It is located nearby to the specialty restaurants and is the perfect place for a pre- or post-dinner cocktail.

Palo Steakhouse

Palo Steakhouse is a new take on the iconic Palo restaurant aboard all Disney Cruise Line ships. The design of the space is inspired by Cogsworth from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast bringing elegance to the adults-only restaurant. It is open for brunch and dinner and features both Italian and modern steakhouse dishes.

Enchanté

Enchanté is the newest adult-only restaurant to the Disney Cruise Line fleet and is available on all of the Wish Class ships. The theming is inspired by Lumière from The Beauty and The Beast and it features a gourmet menu created by three-Michelin-starred Chef Arnaud Lallement.

Casual Dining

Marceline Market

For a quick bite, Marceline Market is the place to go. This indoor buffet features multiple food stations with a wide variety of options to please even your pickiest eater. It is open for breakfast and lunch only. It serves all your favorites, along with some signature items only found on Disney Cruise Line like Mickey churro waffles and a daily seafood spread with crab claws, crab legs, and shrimp.

Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods

If you prefer to dine outside on the upper decks, Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods is your best option. Five character-inspired food stations can be found here including:

  • Mickey’s Smokestack Barbeque — offerings include pulled pork, brisket, ribs, mac and cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, and more.
  • Daisy’s Pizza Pies — offerings include cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, and a specialty pizza each day.
  • Goofy’s Grill — offerings include hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken tenders, french fries, and more.
  • Donald’s Cantina — offerings include tacos, burritos, rice bowls with fillings from chicken, carnitas, beef, guacamole, and more.
  • Minnie’s Delights — offerings include soft serve cups or cones of chocolate and vanilla ice cream, and a rotating flavor each day.

This is a great place to go for a quick bite whenever you find yourself hungry. Our favorites include Donald’s Cantina and Mickey’s Smokestack BBQ; though, you can’t pass up the irresistable chicken tenders at Goofy’s Grill either.

Cafes and Sweet Shops

Whether it’s caffeine or a sweet treat that you’re craving, there are several places to get your fix on Disney Destiny! Just note that dining at these locations is an additional cost and is not included in your cruise.

Café Megara

Café Megara is themed after Disney’s Hercules and serves up specialty coffee nearby the Grand Hall. The design of the cafe is “Greco disco,” with the lightning bolts and clouds of Mount Olympus along with other nods to the Muses and Pegasus.

Café Merida

Café Merida features a “Celtic-centered” design inspired by – you guessed it – Merida! It is the second walk-up cafe just off the Grand Hall serving a similar menu to Cafe Megara one deck below, including espresso-based beverages adorned with a little Disney magic, tea, and pressed juices.

Edna Á La Mode Sweets

Edna Á La Mode Sweets is a specialty dessert shop and confectionery that is home to handmade gelato, cookies, ice cream, specialty, treats, and candy. The space is themed after the Pixar Incredibles short film, Auntie Edna with Edna’s sewing equipment made into devices that churn out treats instead of clothes. To round out the fun theming, sculptures of Edna and Jack-Jack are front and center inside.

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Bars and Lounges

There are plenty of spaces to grab a cocktail or beer on Disney Destiny with several adults-only spaces themed to some of your favorite Disney Parks attractions, Marvel characters, and Disney villains. Note that minors are allowed in most of these spaces, though there may be times when entry is restricted to 21+.

Unlike other cruise lines, DCL does not offer drink packages, and the drinks are a bit on the pricey side. So, be sure to budget accordingly.

Cask and Cannon

Cask and Cannon is the first Pirates of the Caribbean-themed bar on a Disney cruise ship. This new pub is “an eclectic yet cozy watering hole furnished with treasures ‘acquired’ (read: pillaged and pilfered) during the pirates’ many voyages around the globe.”

With a selection of custom craft brews available exclusively aboard Disney Destiny, along with a few cocktails like the Dead Man’s Chest, this is a great casual spot to relax with friends. Guests can watch live sports events and even grab some irresistible bar bites. The food menu, served in the evenings only, features items like potato puffs, chicken wings, and German pretzels at a la carte prices.

Haunted Mansion Parlor

The Haunted Mansion Parlor which debuted on Disney Treasure is also featured on Disney Destiny! The space is “reminiscent of a first-class drawing room from the classic cruise liners of the golden age” and features humor mixed with Disney’s “spooky storytelling.” This immaculately detailed space brings to life this Disney Parks attraction.

While you sip on a selection of specialty cocktails created just for the lounge, you’ll watch as ghosts materialize. This can include singing wall art, a séance with Madame Leota, or other playful spooks on the digital screen behind the bar.

De Vil’s Piano Lounge

Cruella De Vil is the inspiration for the piano bar on Disney Destiny with tons of villainous details from both the original animated 101 Dalmatians and Cruella. The centerpiece of the lounge is a Dalmatian-spotted piano with live performances every evening.

The menu here features martinis, cocktails, wines, and champagne that are just as over-the-top as the diva herself, with drinks like the Fashionista poured from a spotted shaker and served with a side of popcorn to the Perfectly Wretched topped with champagne perfume and a side of lipstick.

The Sanctum

Inspired by Doctor Strange and his mystical arts, The Sanctum is a centrally located lounge on the ship where you can enjoy live entertainment and cocktails in the evenings. During the day, the venue hosts various family-friendly activities.

The Sanctum features plenty of nods to the popular Marvel character including “mystical items designed to aid sorcerers in protecting the world” and “unique surprises from Doctor Strange’s New York Sanctum, including a circular mirror behind the bar that evokes the building’s iconic window.” It serves up some mystical cocktails too, like Vapors of Valtor and the electrifying Mirror Dimension.

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Onboard Activities

There’s a lot to do onboard Disney Destiny, with several activities themed around heros and villains, so you’ll never have trouble finding something to keep you busy. From relaxing spas to pools to giant family obstacle courses and character meet-and-greets, you’ll never be bored. Be sure to check the Navigator app for the locations and times of these activities.

Pool Activities

Disney Destiny features eight total pools, a Toy Story-themed splash pad and small body slide, and a 760-foot-long water attraction — The AquaMouse.

The AquaMouse can be found on all of the Wish Class ships but each one has its own original storylines. Disney Destiny features four different shorts with one of them being “Sing a Silly Song.” As you make your way through the ups and downs of the water ride, Mickey and Minnie will lead you to the peak of Villain Mountain coming face to face with classic Disney villains. The ride features an original soundtrack as well.

If you’re traveling with toddlers, you’ll want to check out the Toy Story Splash Zone along with the nearby Splash-a-Saurus Rex waterslide and Trixie’s Falls. And, adults can enjoy a space just for them in the Quiet Cove with a pool, bar, coffee shop, and upgraded lounge furniture.

Aside from the six pools cascading on the main pool deck, the Chip and Dale pool, forward on Deck 14, is a quieter family pool with plenty of loungers in the shade.

Broadway Style Theater Shows

The Walt Disney Theatre is home to nightly live entertainment where you can see Broadway-style adaptations of some of your favorite Disney movies. Each evening there is a different featured performance. Disney Seas the Adventure (an original Disney Cruise Line musical production featuring Disney and Pixar characters) and Frozen, A Musical Spectacular return to the stage on Disney Destiny.

Hercules is a brand-new show that is exclusive to Disney Destiny. The production brings “the larger-than-life characters, spirited comedy, and legendary music from the Walt Disney Animation Studios film to the stage.” You can expect to hear all the famous music from the film, with a few originals, paired with state-of-the-art stage props and special effects in this fresh retelling of the Disney classic.

Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party

Disney Cruise Line’s signature Pirate Night rocks out on Disney Destiny. It features a full line-up of nighttime entertainment on the top decks and fireworks at sea. The Pirate’s Rockin’ Parlay Party features Captain Redd from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction in Disney World with her band of buccaneers playing rockin’ renditions of classic pirate tunes.

Senses Spa

Whether you’re keeping up with your workout routine or you need a place to truly relax, Senses Spa offers both on Disney Destiny. Traditional spa treatments are available for booking along with the famous thermal suite, the Rainforest Room. This area features heated tile loungers, an aromatherapy steam room, dry sauna, ice room, and whirlpools and lounge furniture on the outdoor deck.

In addition to the spa experiences, there is a Senses Fitness gym where you can take advantage of state-of-the-art exercise equipment, Or, get a haircut, shave, manicure, or pedicure at Hook’s Barbery (with a hidden bourbon bar) and the Untangled Salon.

Saga

Saga is a two-story entertainment venue inspired by the architecture of Wakanda in Marvel’s Black Panther. It is a central hub for daytime family activities and adult-exclusive evening entertainment. Along with The Sanctum and Triton Lounge, guests can partake in crafts, learn-to-draw experiences, trivia, Bingo, and game shows in these venues.

Some of the evening events in Saga include Villains Game Night, Majority Minds, Match Your Mate, and Go Fetch. The ship’s two storytellers, Zayah and Gamble, also host the hilarious “With Great Power: Marvel Comedy Show”.

Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas

One of the coolest things about sailing with Disney Cruise Line is that you’ll have the opportunity to catch first-run films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, and more without having to hit your local theater. These movies are available in the Wonderland and Never Land Cinemas onboard Disney Destiny.

While not first-run films, guests can also enjoy Disney movies on the Funnel Vision up on the pool deck throughout the day.

Hero Zone

Deck 13 is home to the Hero Zone where families can find a full-sized basketball court and an elaborate Incredibles-themed obstacle course, the Incredi-Games. You’ll find air hockey and foosball tables here too, as well as cornhole, available to use free of charge.

The activities in this space do vary from day to day, so be sure to check the Navigator app for a list of events occurring on your sailing.

Character Meet-and-Greets

Of course, a Disney vacation wouldn’t be complete without the chance to meet some of your favorite characters. And, Disney Destiny certainly delivers with more-than-ever character opportunities! Disney Destiny is the only place that you can meet Superhero Minnie Mouse. You can also meet the classic Disney characters, Disney princesses, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee on Pirate Night, Maleficent, Dr. Facilier, Spider-Man, Black Panther, Loki, and more.

These meet-and-greets basically take place most of the day with characters rotating out every hour or so. Just be prepared to arrive early and wait in line.

Additional Experiences and Activities

In addition to the character meet-and-greets, there are some special character experiences that you can only find on Disney Destiny. The Celebration of a King takes place in the Grand Hall and features both Loki and Black Panther.

Treble-Making with Cruella takes place in De Vil’s bar. This interactive show features Cruella along with the ship’s storytellers, Zayah and Gamble. You can also walk the Wretched Runway in a Cruella De Vil fashion show held in the Grand Hall.

Another standout is Under Her Spell: A Maleficent Encounter. This interactive experience blends show elements with a meet and greet with the mistress of evil.

Dr. Facilier’s Parlor offers a more intimate encounter. You can get personal time with the Shadow Man himself for a little mystery and magic. No photos are allowed in Dr. Facilier’s Parlor, but there are additional photo ops with him throughout the cruise.

In the Grand Hall, the storytellers also host several shows, including Legend of Loki, Sleeping Beauty: A Mostly Accurate Tale, and Destiny Discovered.

If that’s not enough, there’s live music in DeVil’s and The Sanctum, the Little Hero Dash where parents race their crawling babies, makeovers for the kids at Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and so much more.

Disney Destiny Cruise Ship Kids’ Clubs

Whether you’re traveling with infants, toddlers, children, tweens, or teens, there is a dedicated space onboard Disney Destiny for them! Although these spaces typically welcome only kids (acting as your very own babysitter!), there are certain times when adults can join the fun too.

Throughout your cruise, there will be open houses in all these spaces during which parents can join their kids in using everything the kids’ clubs have to offer.

“it’s a small world” Nursery

“it’s a small world” Nursery is the babysitting service onboard Disney Destiny. Inside, the littlest sailors can enjoy games, crafts, movies, books, and visits from Disney friends while under the care of Disney’s trained counselors.

Note that the nursery is the only kids’ space that isn’t free on Disney Destiny and reservations are required. You can make reservations whenever your onboard booking window opens. Or, there are usually some same day reservations available.

Disney’s Oceaneer Club

Kids ages 3 to 10 are welcome inside Disney’s Oceaneer Club. This signature Disney Cruise Line space features multiple themed rooms for kids to enjoy including Marvel Super Hero Academy, Fairytale Hall, the Walt Disney Imagineering Lab, Star Wars: Cargo Bay, and Mickey and Minnie’s Captain’s Deck.

The space features games, crafts, character interactions, hands-on activities, and more throughout the day under the supervision of Disney’s trained counselors.

Reservations are not needed for Disney’s Oceaneer Club and kids can come and go as much as they please. Just note that parents must check the children in and out. Children are also required to be potty trained and fully bathroom independent.

Edge

Edge is a space dedicated to tweens ages 11 to 14. It features TVs, video games, board games, movies, trivia, and lots of scheduled activities throughout the day to keep your kids busy.

Vibe

Vibe is for the “big” kids ages 14 to 17 and features spaces to hang out along with scheduled activities including karaoke and dance parties. There’s also a coffee bar here serving nonalcoholic beverages, smoothies, and more.

Final Thoughts on Disney Destiny

Disney Destiny delivers everything you love about Disney cruises—exceptional service, delicious dining, immersive theming, and magical moments—with a fresh heroes and villains twist that sets it apart from the rest of the fleet.

Whether you’re making “friends on the other side” with Dr. Facilier, singing along to Hercules, meeting Superhero Minnie, or sipping cocktails at De Vil’s piano bar, this ship offers experiences you simply can’t find anywhere else.

But, it does come with a premium price tag!

So, is this ship right for your family?

Book Disney Destiny if:

  • You’re Disney adults who appreciate the villains theme
  • Your family includes older kids or teens who love Marvel
  • You want unique character experiences you can’t get elsewhere
  • Premium theming, service, and attention to detail matter more than price
  • You’ve sailed Disney before and want something different

Consider other Disney ships if:

  • You’re sailing with young children who prefer princesses (try Disney Dream)
  • You’re not invested in Marvel or superhero programming (opt for any other DCL ship)
  • Budget is a primary concern (Disney Magic or Wonder are older and often have lower fares)
  • You want the most classic Disney cruise experience (book Disney Dream or Fantasy instead)
  • You prefer adventure or fairy tale theming over heroes and villains (opt for Disney Treasure or Wish, respectively)
